Re: 64 Bit ApertureToSmugMug Plugin
five requests and a huge thank you... I'm going to start out by saying a huge thank you. I just uploaded 3900 high rez photos to over 150 galleries in a faster more secure way than I've ever been able to before. And directly from the program I most use to for my professional projects. Here are a couple of requests I would… -
Re: New Camera: 30D or 400D
My intent is not to scare you off or put you in bankruptcy. Ross is dead on clarifying my post. I just want you to know that there are a number of "little things" that add up to a few bucks and you just can't avoid having them, so don't budget all your money for the body and lens(es) and have none left over. You'll be… -
Re: Gray Card Test
Ziggy53 -- I've heard that and seen some of the threads too. I suppose if the target is placed in the scene to be used later in post-processing, then it's overall reflectivity will determine how much information is available to the eye-dropper for setting white-balance in post-processing. Having said that, I still think… -
Re: Lens For Portraits
Your blurry shots are probably caused by camera shake. As a general rule the minimum shutter speed that most people can handhold their camera's and still avoid camera shake is 1/x where x is the focal length of the lens in 35mm terms. So if your camera has a 1.5x crop sensor (not sure if it does as I'm not familiar with… -
Re: GOOD Lighting Equipment, on a budget
Generally speaking I stay quiet and learn during these posts. But I feel I should share my experiences, I am a fairly new photographer and just recently (2 years) started doing alot of portrait work. I was in the same situation as yours, low budget, high quality stuff... I shoot Canon but I really don't think it matters. I… -
Re: 24-70L Redux
Thanks BtK and Goldenballs. For the record, I only started taking "clinical" test shots such as these because I noticed a problem when using it out in the field in real life conditions, which are all that counts to me. But having detected a potential problem, this was a good way to start checking what was going on in… -
Re: Memory card "safety" and rotation...
thanks for the reply :) I wonder if anyone else even has a policy, or if they will make one after they lose a ton of pics one day... Ours is probably WAY overboard, but we've been saved twice so it's worth it: Note we usually shoot with 2 cameras. We also shoot only with smaller cards (4gb), mainly because we never fill… -
Re: Shooting a Cerimony tomarro.... NEED ADVICE!
YEah, I brought the Lumix. THe Squaderon Camera was a small rinky dink Cannon w/ a fold out LCD screen and the WB was all effed up. Whe ever used it last had no idea what they were doing. I shot w/ the Lumix instead. I had about a half an hour to mess w/ my camera. I ended up shootign in Shutter Priority because it offered… -
Re: Recovering from Failure
I was contracted for two private schools. I was connected to the schools because I worked a day job in Development at one of them and when I got laid off, they wanted to use me as a contractor for school pix - I had done their marketing photos during my time there. One school (School A) had 300 kids, the other (School B)…
