Re: please critique my first wedding set
first wedding set. I hope the following is helpful...I looked at your website and it is very good. Okay, here goes. Picture composition and coverage is good. However, you have some glaring errors. First being that the white balance is off in some of the shots. White clothes look blue or gray (off white)...custom white… -
Polarizing filters questions...
Should I remain married to the Olympus line, or is it "safe" to test the waters of other manufacturers? Also, I have been doing some reading, and it seems that there exist polarizers that are linear and circular (I love the qualities polarizing light lends to photos, if I can figure out how to scan the slides, I'll post… -
Re: NOTICE: End of DSS....
Prizes weren't a particularly strong motivator for me either. I was initially curious (after finding Dgrin) about all the SM related hoohah, but had no intention of shelling out for it, so after getting a 'place' (5th iirc) I could see for myself @ no cost. Suffice to say that when I more recently bagged another SM sub, I… -

Re: Strobist Kit Advice
Since you already have a 580ex II, all you really need is a light stand, a PC cord or a wireless trigger of some type, and an umbrella and/or a nice lightbox diffuser. This will cost less than the Starving Student kit if you use a PC cord or the Cactus V2 wireless triggers. You can find light stands, umbrellas, etc at B&H… -

Re: The Journey Begins
Art I ran through a roll of film today....12 exposures....over about an hours worth of time. My goal was to find out where the Yashi meter fell out as compared to that of the 50D. Other than poor light it was the perfect day....misting rain...dreary cloud cover...so no stray light to trick the meters. I framed up different… -
Re: What should I do?
I was employed by the local newspaper at the age of 15 and we did shoot with all manual cameras (Yashica 124, TLR). I also had a personal Pentax H1a, an all manual 135 format camera and lenses (commonly called "35mm format"). Yes, I would have killed to have a modern dSLR, from any manufacturer. Used properly, any modern… -
Re: New to site and digital cameras
Well, I finally found the appropriate thread to say hello. Please excuse me, I have impulse control issues and have piped up in other threads. Feel free to visit my site (or http://www.reefs.org/phpBB2/ or http://www.wetwebmedia.com ) to make yourselves just as pesky as me. :D I purchased my first camera.. Jesus, I haven't…
