Re: Help me choose a 500mm
I personally would recommend the bigma, so named b/c it's the Big Sigma. The bigma has a nice HSM AF motor, while the other lenses have the older noisier and slower AF. The bigma is just much more versatile. From what little I've heard, I hear that the Sigma 135-400 isn't as optically good as the bigma. But I've not seen… -

Welcome home, Tinkerbell
This is a 2005 Yamaha FJR sport-touring bike with an inline 4 cylinder engine that puts out 145 HP. I bought it new and spent a fair amount of money and time customizing it to my taste.....new seats, back rest, suspension pieces, handle bars, different windshield, etc. etc. From new to 2009, I put 38,000 miles on it. I… -
Re: Taking Your Gear on the Plane
I'm guessing you'll be on an Embraer ERJ 145, my favorite regional puddle jumper; double-check your itinerary to see which tin can you'll be on (it may be labeled ER4). The ERJ is a smaller puddle jumper with only three rows of seats and limited storage space. A normal full-sized carry-on suitcase (eBags Mother Lode eTech… -

Re: Update on Hospital Sale
That's great advice Glort and something along the lines that I have been ruminating over recently. Monpod Comparison -- Bogen .vs. Gitzo
I'm currently shooting with a Bogen 3249 monopod. After a couple of years of use, the foot wore out and the pod is filled with sand. Taking that as a very weak clue, I decided to look at monopods. What I ended up with was a Gitzo G1564L. I chose the L because I wanted to get more height as I found myself stooping for many… -
