Re: Option to disable the iphone 'backdoor'?
If you're using the /iphone interface then yes, I want those mobile devices disabled also. Simply providing the option to disable the /iphone interface solves the problem. Its my content. Shouldn't I be able to decide how (look and feel) people experience it? Come in through the front door (my real homepage), or don't… -
Re: Upload timing out constantly
Ok, first of all, THANK you for both Andy and Luke_Church. Here is the latest development and ans to your questions: Where are you? (Physically) Hong Kong What type of connection are you using? (Is it DSL? Coporate?) ADSL (8Mbps down/800kbps up) What OS are you using? (XP?) Tried both XP and OSX 10.4. both with latest… -
Re: Raw Processing v. Photoshop
I don't think that's what Dan is saying. If so, big deal. I'm pretty sure Dan could get a better image using just Camera Raw than I could get using Photoshop. Instead, I think he's saying that he can always or almost always get as good or better an image out of just PS, than he can out of Camera Raw pre-processing plus PS.… -
Re: Need help on wide Canon lens?
Yes, 24mm on a 1.6x crop-frame camera gives a field of view approximately equivalent to 38mm on full-frame. You just multiply by the crop factor. A crop-frame camera simply has a smaller sensor, so the effect is the same as taking a full-frame picture and cropping off all four sides. I wouldn't use an ultra-wide lens like… -
Re: Organising Categories
edit: ok, let me just rewrite this, as I was partly off originally. To do this, you'll first have to be sorting your galleries/categories by position (not date). It appears that this setting is tied to that of how albums are displayed within categories and subcategories (NOT how photos are displayed within an album) -… -
Re: Manual Focusing?
Let me tell something about this. As some of you know, I don't shoot much sport. Or, to be more accurate/precise I am not used to shoot sport at all. But I am trying to do it now. Two or three weeks ago, I have been shooting young people in canoes in a pool, playing with a ball. I use a 20D for now and a 350D. I was using… -
Re: External Hard drive /back up storage
First off, for the average user the Drobo sits at the top of the wish list. Full redundancy without headache... Here's some more information to help make a better decision: Connects from fastest to slowest: eSATA 3Gb/s eSATA 1.5Gb/s Firewire 800 Firewire 400 Gigabit Ethernet (this is HEAVILY dependent on devices, network… -
Re: >>> 2.3 (Feathered or Scaled): Critique/Discussion Thread
#11 Lunge (quark) When I read the challenge theme, I was hoping someone would produce a great scaly reptile image—you came through with this snake. Really dramatic perspective and good texture in the in focus scales. The murky B&W conversion gives it a sinister quality. For me, the shallow depth of focus went just a bit… -
Re: LPS#6 Feedback thread
woohoo! Good thing I didn't take it for you...took it for me. The shot was taken because of the deeply saturated orange, which just screams at you...not the angle of the photo...that just kept it from being completely boring. I shoot for color and the potential for framing. Making something pleasing to the eye out of… -
