Actually, I don't suggest you put a TC on either of those lenses. They are not fast enough IMPO. But if you need more reach... depending on what you're needing the reach for and how much you're willing to spend... I would suggest you look into an AF 300/4 or AFD 300/2.8. The 300/4 should set you back $400+ and the 300/2.8… -

Right, that's what I was trying to say. The Oly 75-300 is micro four thirds and slower, the 75-300 is four thirds and the same aperture as the Pany 100-300. I'm a sucker for aperture. The 75-300 would put you at ISO 2400 (or 2500) when you could be at 1600. No hood supplied with the Oly... cheesy... But, it could all come… -

Canon 300/4 versus 300/2.8
I can't see myself using a lens as big and heavy as a 300/2.8, but maybe there is a reason to. Besides being a full-stop faster, what else is different about the two lenses? Big difference in optical quality? Focus performance? Image stabilization differences? Just wondering what makes it 4X the money. -

which canon lens...
I am looking to by new glass.. down to 3 choices,,1 canon 300 4.0 is 2 canon 400 5.6 3 canon 100-400 .. first question is the is something to worry about with the 300... most shots will be on a tripod... all are in my price range ,,, does the 300 work well with the 1.4 converter? any views out there.. -
