Re: Can youz test a new uploader?
Nice interface. Love the option to skip duplicates. Fast upload, so fast that I have one complaint. If we are only adding one or two images and they upload quickly ... we do not have any confirmation that they were done. So can there be some sort of "results" message after the upload is complete. Maybe something that says… -
Re: Help spend my $200 - not on you ;-)
If you shoot landscapes, get a (circular) polarizer, a 6 stop ND (max diameter + a set of adapters), and a better wide angle lens. If you shoot people, get a good flash and a reflector (maybe sell one of the 28-xx to cover the cost, why have two with nearly identical coverage?) BTW, I'm surprised you don't have 50mm prime… -
Re: Turn Off Photo Title's Hotlink?
The only real way to do this would be to move the "Titles" into the caption and remove anything from the titles. You can add HTML to the captions and format it with CSS. For example: To your captions:<div class="myTitles">Wedding Photo Galleries</div><br/>By clicking the photo above you'll go ... Then add this… -
Re: html not working in Gallery Description
Things from legacy do work in NewSmug as long as you don't try to edit. My legacy description html looked fine in NewSmug until I went in and add something like xx in the text and saved. Then the whole thing blew up. In my case I was using tables in legacy which looked fine in NewSmug but not after entering edit. Striped… -
Re: How many pics do you show clients?
I think you captured the moments of the wedding. Were they looking for more candid shots of people at the wedding? From an outsiders position looking at the shots, they look like you cover the special event and you also got some really special memory shots. I have some wording in my contract saying that the number of… -
Re: A company wants to use one of my photos on their site...
You can draw up a usage document detailing where and how long they can use your image. You can also have credit given back to you. Your usage document should be clear that you retain all copyrights to the image. If you are charging them, be sure to place that amount in the usage agreement. Company X is paying $XXX for… -
Re: How do constant f-stop zoom lenses work?
I think you might find that some very old xx-2xx zooms with constant apertures would be push pull, my dad had an OM mount vivitar that was a push pull 70-210, I don't think it was constant aperture, but it might have been, there are also some older canons, including a 100-300 in both regular and L incarnations that were… -
Re: connect a separate monitor to laptop
Hi Richard..The laptop doesn't have a full size vga port..well it has a tiny one.. I was thinking I'd need a vga to usb. The one I got from newegg would have been great if the vga had been a 15 pin full size.. is there such a cable as a full size on one end and mini on the other.. thanks for getting back to me by the way xx -
Amazing color photographs from the past
All this time I've under the impression that color photography pretty much didn't exist until mid-XX century. I was so wrong. A colleague of mine sent me this link: http://www.loc.gov/exhibits/empire/ about Russian photographer who took absolutely stunning color images in early 1900-ies using separate color plates. And…
