Re: RAW wedding files taking up too much room on SM Pro
I use the Smugmug export plug in as well. It converts to jpg and uploads to my smugmug galleries. I never noticed before, but it appears that you can upload a RAW file, if you have configured it to do so. Check to be sure that you have selected JPG in the "File Settings' selection box: I use 90% myself, and dont notice any… -
Re: The Dunes of Death Valley
All of these sand dunes are close together. You don't have to walk more than 15-30 minutes to get to the main dunes from your car. If you walk on the dried mud flats on the western side of the dunes it's easier (to walk and find footprint free areas), although the highest and coolest dunes are on the east side, but they… -
Re: Great desktop specs for photo editing?
Hey, I'm using Vista Ultimate 64 over here and it's running way better than I have ever been able to get XP Home or XP Pro to run. I used to hate Vista too, until I got my hands on the 64 bit version of it. It's like night and day compared to the 32 bit version. My system which I built back in November of 2008: - Antec 300… -
Re: The Coupons Business Discussion Thread
I'm pretty thorough about the data I keep from events going back many years. It is my conclusion that any of my events has a certain maximum value over time and that most of the revenue from it will come very soon after I have the event posted. I do about half of it right there at the event, then it goes to about 90 or 95%… -

Re: Some questions, an intro, and some pics for feedback
Hi Jojo, for starters, I strongly recommend, you check out bottom of thread that I pasted the link for below (I tried to give away recipe/pointers that I feel work for me. This is not 'THE' recipe, it is just 'A' recipe): http://www.dgrin.com/showthread.php?t=244216 As for your specific questions (some repeat from what you… -
Re: Moving to the 5DmkII - help me with lens choice
So I went through my LR3 catalog and did some metadata searching. In 2011 and 2012, I took 11,600 photos with the 50D. Of those 10% were with the 10-22, 52% with the 17-55 and 38% with the 70-200. The last one surprised me actually. Seems my favorite focal lengths from that more detailed breakdown are 10mm, 17mm, 28mm,… -
Economy of Scale - Advice Please
Hello All! Due to time limitations (my full time job, etc.), I just don't think I can tackle growing my SmugMug galleries in a timely fashion on my own. Having upwards of 40,000 images to scan, SloYerRoll (in this thread: **click click** ), convinced me to seek out an outside party to hire to do my scanning. I need… -
A few question with a pro account
I've been reading around and well I think i'am more confused now. It will probably be one of the easiest question answered so here it goes. Here recently I have become well needed when it comes to photography and with the need comes the want for prints and that in return requires lots of free time on my part. I work full… -
Advice on Camera Purchase
Hello, This is my first post on the forum. I am looking at getting out of phone/point and shoot photography and in to the DSLR world. This will be used for kids sports, family vacations, and dog events. After some practice I plan to turn this hobby in to a paying hobby by taking pictures at kids sports and the dog events…
