Northern lights photos on a DRebel (not mine)
I saw these and loved them. The website describes his setup. MY skilset is nowhere near up to this yet. They were shot on a Digital Rebel. I am just now figuring out the controls on my D70. I'll be 104 years old before I am ready for something like this. :D More great shots here. I posted a single shot for you to see, I… -
Brittany Proves I Actually Listen
OK DivaMum, Zoomer and the rest of you fine people, I'm gonna prove I actually heard you all. You don't have to like these bt at least know you were heard.:bow These are from a shoot I did yesterday with Brittany, the newest model I'm in love with (happens about twice a week nowadays :wink). Of course, she is a model so… -
How Can The Judges Pick These !!!???
Yes, these choices bewilder some here. It's been mentioned that there are different tastes. True but an understatement. We bring all of our experiences, thoughts and moods to these challenges as particiipants and judges. I thought if we could step back and think about another art form we might relate to "Different tastes "… -
Re: What is your daily driver?
The Canon PowerShot D10. I'm thinking of trying one of these as a special purpose camera once they are available in May. I'm not sure it will replace the 40D as my daily driver but I'm thinking it should be good around the sailboats where thing get splashed and banged around. Compact digital still camera with built-in… -
Re: What reflector to choose?
I'm thinking it would be wise to bring along another body to hold one of these things outdoors. (I need someone to carry my lenses anyhow!) I can just imagine the wind kicking into it like a sail on a boat. Doesn't seem like it would be easy to do on your own. I have one on order though, in fact it should be arriving… -
Re: Smugmug Gallery Style Malfunctioning
I'm getting an error on the page in one of my galleries that is set to this style: Webpage error details User Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 8.0; Windows NT 5.1; Trident/4.0; FunWebProducts; .NET CLR 1.0.3705; .NET CLR 1.1.4322; Media Center PC 4.0; ImageShack Toolbar 3.0.8; .NET CLR 2.0.50727; .NET CLR 3.0.04506.30;… -
Re: New Camera Setup (50D) - What will I need?
I was using the 50D part time on the Arches shoot. RAW only was putting images at 18 - 21MB on my 2GB card, so I got about 100-104 images for 2 GB. 12 GB gets you 600 +/-. I had 55GB on my laptop and filled it. I did get a WD 160GB USB powered external drive as back up (5" x 3" x 5/8"). It is great for use with a laptop,… -
Re: playing with mini-cam
David, Sorry about the delay. About the model I'm not really sure, just ordered what they had. However, the instruction sheet does hint at a continuous shoot mode,as well as three photos continuously. You can set the resolution from QVGA mode 104 photos to VGA mode 30 pictures,or as the instructions say pieces of photos. Any… -
Re: Canon 24-105 f/4L IS original vs Mk II
With respect, Richard. For the price of the V2 of the 24-105, you could get an 80D to replace your 50D body, couldn't you? I suspect you would notice more improvement from the newer body AF and the newer sensor than you will with the newer lens. I really like my 70D, and generally prefer it to my 7DMk II - smalller,… -
Re: Mini Challenge #223: Fountains
Nice theme Sara, I thought I would have plenty of examples to choose from, but in the end there weren't that many. Guess I need to shoot more fountains in the future 1: Place de la Bourse, Bordeaux Sony A700 + Minolta 24-104 @ 55mm, 1/10, f5.6, iso 800, handheld (I thought you would like this as a connection to the shot…
