Re: CRT vs. LCD Monitor
In all likelihood. Programs like Photoshop CS3/4 will allow you to embed a color space in an image. I have not used Elements in years so I'm not sure what options are available but it likely works in the sRGB space. Dark prints! :eek1 As colorbox stated, usually that results from editing images and adjusting levels by eye… -
Re: Hot and sultry evening in Pennsylvania
<img src="https://us.v-cdn.net/6029383/emoji/headscratch.gif" border="0" alt="" > Hmmm...I did nothing special. I generally shoot in RAW using aperture priority. What I tried to do that day was get the sun obscured by the leaves of the trees to keep my camera from exposing for the sunlight as much as possible. In spite of… -
Re: Flash metering question
I shall bring at least one Corona, in that case! I look forward to meeting you (and others!) as well. I just conducted an experiment, in the name of science. When I was learning about exposure, the guy teaching me had us all take photos of walls at various exposure values so we could see how it varied. Here's my improved… -
Re: Pricing Photography vs. Print Pricing
Where's YOUR MARKET area???????? The book is a good reference book, however actually only if you live in the area the author works out of....meaning...if the author is a New York based photo then he charges NY prices.... Where is your clientel....what will the market bear (or is BARE..hmmm) any way......it is YOUR market… -
Re: Glass Envy...what about this one?
I'll look more into the 70-200VR, you're right that at that much a couple hundred isn't a big difference. Unforunately I do take indoor shots (indoor arenas are really the only place to show in the winter around here). The lighting is absolutely HORRIBLE and a high ISO on the D50 = WAY more noise than the image is worth.… -
Re: November Cruise to Bermuda
We were to leave Bermuda at 4 and to be back to the ship at 3:30. We were meeting Lewis at 9:30. It was blowing really hard and also raining a bit. Apparently it was bad weather all day at the Dockyard where the ship was and rained pretty heavily, but as you can see from my photos, we had pretty good weather where we were.… -

Shenandoah never dissappoints
Yes it was warm, in fact the temp in Shenandoah never dropped below 60 the entire week and that is at 3500 feet above sea level. Because of this warm weather the Fall colors did not reach their usual planned peak while we were there, rather they were just emerging. I understand what it is like to chase ideal landscape… -
Re: Opinions on Spyder 3 Express
Brightness is very much a part of an accurately calibrated monitor. When calibrating a monitor with a hardware kit, typically the brightness level is set first and then the gamma, temperature, and RGB settings are determined (maybe not in that exact order, can't recall off hand). With most of the recent better quality LCD… -
Re: ...im not dying for a photo
Certainly is mate..... Here is todays headlines...(this is quite normal for summer but in winter Funny bit is that our storms are very localised....where my wife works (3 miles as the crow flies) they had ice 2 feet deep & i saw none what-so-ever. I watched a 'super cell' build from 3pm & could not believe it would…
