Re: Smart rules don't work anymore with double keywords: example: "Carbo Carbo"
An option to rebuild the database of existing metadata would be a very good feature. For the problem cited in this discussion, and for the way SM was (is?) mangling certain metadata. After the fix to not trash backslashes in Keywords, new uploads worked, but about 50,000 of my existing photos are still trashed. The… -
Re: Direct link for photo no longer through my own domain
Lille was asking about the change that will happen when we switch CDN's, which is that instead of photos being SRC'd from your custom domain, they'll be sourced from photos.smugmug.com: Example: Today: img src="http://www.aaronmphotography.com/Nature/Landscapes/i-DSXrR7R/0/Th/_DSC2277-Th.jpg" Soon: img… -
Re: Canon 3Ti
Seeing as money is a premium, you may want to look at the Canon T2i. Pretty much the same camera without the flip out screen. I've had just about every rebel, (300, xt, xti, xsi, and now the T3i) and for bang for the buck, these little cameras are tough to beat. For the T2i body alone, on Amazon, the price is $499. There… -
Telephoto for the Wedding Photographer
This is a question mainly for Event/Wedding photographers who pack something longer than 200mm. Background: I have a 70-200 f4 L, I shoot 40-50 weddings/year mostly subcontract. I like the 70-200 but I also carry a tripod, and I am accustomed to hitting the still moments of the ceremony. I am considering something image… -
F1
A self-important young man goes out and buys the best car available, a Maclaren F1. It is one of the fastest and most expensive cars in the world. He takes it out for a spin and, while doing so, stops at a red light. An old man on a moped (both looking about 90 years old) pulls up next to him.The old man looks over the… -

work
Maybe not really a journey, but it is a story with photos of a (work-) trip i made :D I don't really have one full-time job, but i do everything and nothing right now. During the summer season here, i worked for a company that does vacations for children. They are all between 5 and 19, divided up into smaller age-groups. I… -
Garden of the Gods - Velvia Large Format
I posted my black and white film images the other day to this forum. Yesturday I picked up my color slides from the processors. This was my first time shooting color slide film. I've always stuck with black and white because I can process it myself, and because it is cheap compared to color. Well, I was a little nervous as… -
Nikon P300
I'll be testing it out tomorrow but my initial impressions are that it is a pretty solid little camera. The controls seem easy to use and so are the menus as I was able to set it up in a minute without having to open the manual. Now while I do like this camera a lot I have to say a the keyword with it is compromise, though… -
Re: Backup storage - NAS devices
About three or four months ago, I bought the Linksys NAS200 and put a 500GB drive in one of the bays-the other is still empty. It works fine--but is slooooow. It's okay as a backup storage, but although it shows up as just another drive on your computer, you will definately know it is not an internal drive by the response…
