Detroit - The new Cool Place to be.
Detroit is Cool! No really, it is. I can’t believe that more people don’t pencil in my hometown as one of their favorite vacation destinations. We have waterfront property, a country across the river where drinking is legal at the age of 19, three casinos in a two-mile radius, and more crack than you'll see in paparazzi… -

Re: >>> SF4 - Feedback Thread
Here goes.... Comments/Critiques: #2 - Autumn Harvest - 3rd. Striking image. So sharp it cuts me. I'd love to see a behind the scenes for this. #3 - Unplugged - Very unusual composition. Interesting as a piece of art. One thing that bothers me is that the monitor should be facing the opposite direction in MHO. #4 - Susan… -
Re: Stupid queston
A 3 light set up would be ideal....either the AB400 or 800.....as the Photo (his name is PETER GOWLAND and he shot for Playboy, Snap-On Tool, Rigid Tools and tons of movie star head shots )......his suggestion for 3 lights was ! main light and 2 backlights......now I made my own back light stand....using 2 - 3lb coffee… -
Re: Subjective WB Question
Here's some non-subjective input based on numbers. In image #1, I put sample points in four places to sample the color values, two on her face, one on the white lettering on the uniform and one on her dark shirt right above the red vneck. I then switched the color sampler for the two points on the face to show me CMYK… -
Re: Justi's Abrasive LPS Critique thread
#28 Hamster- After hours Theme: Looks sinful to me. Aesthetics: There is a lot I dig about this. The red cast is a good choice. The DOF keeps you wondering about the contents of that screen. The wedding ring, classic. This is a good shot. But for god's sake man, isn't it time to upgrade that Mac? #29 Sherstone- Reverend… -
Re: China October 2011
Following the shopping area it was time to go look at a silk shop. We were on a tour and this is one of the prices you pay for traveling with a tour group. However we were interested in looking for another silk comforter cover and were interested in what the shop might offer. The visit began with the usual “how silk is… -
Custom Watermark Tutorial
hi everyone, like many of you I have for a long time wanted to have my own custom watermark in my photos, and like many of you I have tried all the tutorials out there, but if I wanted consistent results I had to resize my images or do it manually. I wanted a method to work with any of my images, without resizing and to… -
Road Trip #8: Odds 'N Ends
This is the eighth and FINAL post in my series from my 32 day road trip through the western US. #1 "Lost Ladybug" (Larger version and EXIF can be found here.) This was taken in Great Sand Dunes National Park in southern Colorado. I never thought I'd find a ladybug in the middle of a vast sea of sand dunes, but I was wrong.… -
>>> LPS#1 Feedback/Critique from the Judges
If a judge is moved to make a comment, they are free to pass that along with their voting tally. We did receive some feedback for this round: annnna8888 First of all, the entries were varied and showed a broad range of subjects (gave me a lot of ideas, too). What I was mostly looking for in the photos was the immediate…
