35-100F2 Zuiko Top Pro User Pictures
I've had the top pro Oly 35-100F2 for just over two weeks and used it at my cousins wedding over the weekend ( I was one the other offical photographer, although rather reluctantly). The pro wedding photographer was shooting with 2 EOS 5D's and L glass and even he was smitten by the F2. Regards the 35-100f2: * Its sharp at… -
Re: Crop sensor mirrorless—Sony, Fujifilm, or … ?
I've been happy with micro four thirds gear. Most of my photography is outdoors in good light, taken either while hiking or backpacking. As a 66 year old backpacker, I'm quite aware of both volume and weight. There are trades and it just depends on where you want to land. I've heard that going from an APS-C to micro four… -
Re: And I thought my hobby was expensive, ha (help w/Sony lens)
The great thing about shooting Sony is that the entire Minolta lineup is at your disposal. You should become very familiar with KEH's "Minolta Auto-Focus" section where you can find lots of great things. I shoot the A700 and have gone through a couple dozen lenses getting my kit (almost) where I want it. I would suggest… -
Re: Senior Pictures
a blown highlight is area where it's so bright that details are lost, for example on the one photo the light is very bright on her shoulder and you can't see any details, it's just a big old white blob to say. Morning and evenings work best for lighting and colors. As mentioned, shade is your friend with some fill light or… -
Re: 2009 collection
Thanks so much, guys. Your encouragement and gentle guidance (and not so gentle when I've needed a good kick in the pants!) has really been what's made this possible, and you have no idea how much I appreciate each and every person who's taken the time to comment both with "attagirls" and constructive feedback for when… -
Re: lens hood
Make sure... ...you order correctly. I just learned there are (were - all now discontinued) three versions of the 28-105 f/3.5 lens. They are: 28-105mm 3.5-4.5 USM, flower icon. This is the first version of this popular lens, released in the early 1990s. It’s a midrange consumer zoom with decent optics and a fast and… -
Re: Canon EOS R5 Professional Mirrorless Camera
I saw a web link with similar information about the EOS R5. Dual cards, high frame rates, IBIS - but I was struck by what was left out - water resistance, body sealing, AF performance compared to a 1DX Mk II or III. The announcement of the RF 1.4 and 2.0 TCs also was interesting - I wondered if the RF TCs were RF mount on… -
Re: Baseball Camera Settings
The following were shot with a Nikon D200 & VR 70-200 F2.8 set at f4. no crop - from between home and first 2nd base action from between home and 1st cropped from 10 Mpix to approx 4 Mpix I think the point is, you'll do quite well with your 70-200 f2.8. The F4 lens will likely do pretty well as well if the light is good,… -
Re: Camera for events
David, I'm probably about as curious about the reasoning behind your words as you are about mine. First, there is zero reason for me to return a lens that meets my requirements for shooting a corporate event. Unlike, say fine art, the primary objective for my work here is to capture happy and productive looking people… -
Re: Gymnastics: Canon vs. Nikon; your choice?
Tried a 70-200/2.8IS at the meet this past weekend. Also brought a 28-70/2.8 to give some opportunity for close stuff and candids. The gym is probably (hopefully) one of the worst lit I've ever encountered. Mercury, or maybe Sodium Vapors, mounted in big silver metal housings. The kind of lighting that makes you feel like…
