Re: Adding a Frame to Images in Lightbox
While you can frame your lightbox-photos I would not recommend doing it. I had done it for a while, but found that portrait-format photos would create trouble as their borders would be cut off unless I would also make the photos smaller. But nevertheless here comes my former code (though "only" with a double border, I… -
Re: Dell or Eizo - choice to make....
On the Eizo monitors, what does the IPS technology do other than jack up the price between the 221 and 241 CG series? Is seems the only real difference is the $5K monitor hits 98% of aRGB vs 95%, which is either way, far beyond other monitors which cover about 75%. My Dell2007WFP monitors are dying. I got a LaCie 324, but… -
Re: Yellowstone
Yellowstone is my wonderland!! I spent the summer of '98 working in the park(Grant Village). It has now been 11yrs since I was there but it is high on the "family vacation list"! Thanks for posting the pictures, brings back lots of wonderful memories!!! I can't wait to look at the gallery! I love the color in the photos!!… -
Re: Choosing a Canon mount dSLR
The differences in the Rebel vs the 10D are the body and its style of gripping. If you plan on taking it out more ruggedly then I would go with the 10d but if you just plan on shooting under care and ease then the rebel is fine. The differences in the two are body and $500 bucks. As for price, everything always drops in… -

Re: formatting a pc
Basically if your computer is powerfull enough to carry Windows XP and you have Windows XP full instalation CD - just follow instalation instructions. One bad hint - since several years factory made computer do not come with real Windows instalation disks !!! My last real Windows instalation CD which come with new computer… -
Re: Yerba Buena Island, San Francisco, Ca
I think this one is much better, and don't mind the brightness of Market Street. If you really wanted to tone it down, I would process the image twice -- once for 98% of the image, and once for just Market Street. Then you could blend the two exposures using a layer mask in Photoshop. Depending on how bright it was in the… -
Re: Canon 1D Mark IV!
Not so sure about that. Between my Canon XT/350D, 40D, 1D MKII and 5D MKII cameras, the crop 1.6x cameras do seem to occupy more of the viewfinder with AF points, however: The AF module is different between these different cameras and I would not expect the same AF coverage regardless. The smaller crop format cameras also… -
Re: more U8 soccer
Elaine, that shot IS a portrait shot. It's fine as is, except for maybe taking a little more off the bottom. If it had been shot in landscape, it would have a lot of wasted space. I shoot about 98% of my soccer in portrait mode. About the only time I shoot landscape is for team/sideline shots. Btw, I shot three U8 games… -
