Re: Muench University
"When I shot this the subject in my eyes was the almost bright white curve of the dune" I believe you whitnessed some very bright white sand, as I too have been to White Sands and was blinded. In order to share that blinding white light you experienced you will need to alter the luminance in that region of the image. This… -
Re: First dSLR, what to get?
Thanks for all the tips ziggy, I'll defenitley keep that stuff in mind. I'm going to try printout the lens hood, then use contact paper to make it a little more durable. I could even have it print the same color as Canon L glass, and I'd have part of my lens show up as fancy white, even if it is the wrong part! As far as… -
Re: Need to resize-- how much??
Some ideas It all depends on what the pictures on the CD are for. For onscreen presentation on a modern screen size, 800 pixels high (for either landscape or portrait orientation photos is often a good size to view). If you know they have a bigger screen or smaller screen than that, you can adjust slightly from there. You… -
Re: Fungi & moss
There are three ways to get macro capabilities out of your camera. You will have to ask yourself what you want to spend and what quality are you looking to get, typically the more money you spend the higher quality image (lens) you will get. If you have a local camera store it may be worth going down there and seeing if… -
Outsourcing Post Processing
I was just curious how many dgrinners outsource their wedding post processing. I've decided to take on more weddings when asked. I'm not actively advertising, just more accepting word of mouth recommendations once I talk to the couple. I have my regular job, but I love photography and feel like I can do the work. Mostly… -

Re: Need help with bottom bar info for thumbnails in Multiple Photos block
I guess I misunderstood your question. The link helps. Remove ALL of the code here: .sm-user-ui .sm-tile-info .sm-tile-title { font-size: 180%; font-weight: 400; min-height: 25px; padding: 15px 0; color: rgba( 255, 255, 255, 1.0); background: rgba( 40, 45, 57, 1.0)}.sm-user-ui .sm-tile-info .sm-tile-title:hover {… -
drop-shadow not working in chromium/collage landscape/recentphotos block
Attached is my side wide CSS code to add shadows to most of my content. The only problem is the cromium/chrome-browser which seem to ignore my shadows for collage-landscapoe / multiple photo content blocks. You can find sample galleries here(RecentPhotos content block) and here/gallery). In Chromium you do not see shadows… -
Re: My favorite eagle
Thanks Terry. January is a fine time to shoot on the Space Coast. There are three prime locations: the Viera Wetlands off of exit 191 of 95, the Orlanod Wetlands of exit 215 and Merritt Island NMR of exit 220. Viera is a an unspectacular location that just provieds a steady stream of photo ops. The cast of characters… -
Re: Apple Mac questions
In addition to the the suggestions about using an external monitor for desktop use, I have a few more suggestions: 1. The 2.2 GHz MacBook Pro will be more than fast enough for your general use. 2. Max out your RAM to 4 GB. DON'T buy from Apple. (about $220 from OWC) The extra RAM will be useful if you do more than one…
