Re: A Wild Ride
Yup.... GM ruled, even Mercedes put fins on their cars Thanks Tom for bringing back some good memories... (Some history for Taz) I was a Ford guy (there was a competition between Ford and Chevy owners) - '50 Ford convertible, '50 Mercury with a '55 Oldsmobile engine - then I drifted and got a '53 Studebaker and tried to… -
Natasha
Priviet, dear friends! Of course, tastes differs... Hope you'll find something on your taste here... 1 Used Harry Behret's method here (copy layer/multiply blending mode/blur-> Gaussian blur (3.5 here) depending on the size of 'details'/set opacity to what you need) 2 Experimenting with poses. I choose this one - rather… -
Bluebottle
This big bluey was on and off the same area of leaves over a five minute period. It kept swapping from one to another, so I just set the lens pointing at one it kept going back to, until eventually, it landed there again and hey presto, shutter pressed. The slight ghosting you see on the wing is because a fraction of a… -
Test shots - Canon 100-400L IS
My girlfriend is considering purchasing this lens. I was telling her how well the IS works. so I went out this morning, sat on the porch and took some shots with slower than recommended shutter speeds (hand held). I loaded them at full size right off the compact flash card - no post processing. thought you might be… -
FS: LowePro Slingshot 100 AW
I'm selling my Lowepro Slingshot 100 AW camera bag. I'm not selling it because I hate; I'm selling it because I moved up to a Lowepro Slingshot 200 AW. So obviously I love the design of this bag. This bag is in like-new condition; I promise you couldn't tell this bag from a new one. I take care of my stuff. All inserts… -
Uploader shows transfer is ok, but files do not upload
Over the last few months I have seen problems with the main smugmug uploader, but not to the extent I have seen this weekend. I tried to upload 53 jpg files to a folder. The uploader adds them correct and it looks like they are uploading. 50 uploaded and I had 3 errors. When I go to look at the folder, no files have… -
Compound Eye
The eye's of flies are of a complex compound nature, and I never tire of seeing them. The old rotting bird table in the garden still attracts then and this is a greenbottle one sat on it. The weather hasn't improved into the early afternoon, still dull and dreary. Bit of flash required again. 3 tubes on the Siggy again.… -
Damned Eyes! (Very close!)
Hello again. Here is another damselfly, in the house this time, it was actually on the clothes-horse near the window, and with a bit of caution applied, I was able to move it so that I got a neutral background (the bit of PVC between the top and bottom window) and then I set the camera to right in front of it! Got in nice… -
Re: Assignment #7: DOF that bench!
This is my first attempt. These kind of assignments is very good because it makes you to have a better knowledge of the equipment and makes you think. This is far more difficult than the previous and that's good. What I found more difficult so far is to set the lens to the HD. Why? Because we have to measure the distance,…
