Re: too much "noise"
Problem is, DSLR is hard to deal with when you don't want to be encumbered. The LX3 noise profile is pretty decent - not as good as some of the earlier-model Fuji F series, but decent. @ TA-2D: just because a camera advertises it is capable of ISO 3200 doesn't mean its capable of producing anything useful. Usually, it's… -
Re: Got accepted to iStockphoto....now what?
I am also going to add my stats currently from my site-so I can give real info..I upload whenever- not so many per month so I don't have a huge portfolio or presence. (Very Small fish in a big pond) I have 130 uploads, 84 sales, my current avg price per sale this month (Oct) is $1.36 and in past months end of month avg… -
Re: Car Talk Thread
I think crash is dead. One of Florida's finest senior citizens got the urge for a sports car and eventually found a like new Datsun 280Z for sale in the local classifieds. After the purchase he cruised down the road, "This is great," he thought as he roared down I-75. Then he looked in his rear view mirror and saw a… -

Re: Mobile cd writer instead of a laptop
As I have said previously, I don't want to spend my evening time waiting around while I burn 3 or 4 CDs. I use my laptop - buy a cheap used one if need be - and a USB 2 powered 40Gb hard drive - That gives me two independent copies of my files quickly, and if I'm real paranoid I would also burn a DVD as well while I slept.… -
Re: Newbie here, would love some advice!
Rheina - A few weeks ago I bought a bag full of camera gear off Craigslist because it had one lens that I wanted. I've got the rest of this stuff just sitting around and would be happy to help out a student if you wanted it. The camera is a Minolta Maxxum 350si. There are also four rolls of film, several filters, a camera… -
Re: Looking for New Body
Since the Canon 70D has been mentioned a few times I should point out that the 7D has around twice the shot buffer capacity* of the 70D with around twice the buffer clearing speed as well. Add in the greater durability of the 7D, rated at 150,000 actuations (vs 100,000 actuations of the 70D), the all magnesium chassis vs… -
Re: AfterShot Pro by Corel
Yeah, but I dunno as I would say I was "taken" with it as if it were a political or emotional thing. Softwares are just tools. Complicated and elaborate for "tools" but tools just the same. If I were a house painter and someone told me i could get an airless spray rig with about the same features plus a few better ones and… -
Re: Do I Know You?
My name is John. My father taught me to process film in a makeshift darkroom when I was about ten years old. That priceless experence seems like it was only yesterday. If only I could have a few more nights with him in that darkroom! I still have several of his vintage cameras. I have been married for 37 years and have a… -
Re: Goodbye Smugmug
the $99 account was the account I was supposed to be "GRANDFATHERED" into, which is Zens 250 account... take a looksee at their comparison chart - Here - to see the diff in all their plans. You may find that you do not really need the top tier and a premium Account would be fine...Premium account is $120... ... so right…
