HS Volleyball with 1D MK III and 135L f/2
My sole purpose of this post to show what the images look like when shot with the 1.3x sensor of the MK III and the 135 f/2. You 1.6x sensor guys would probably need to use the 85 f/1.8 or the 100 f/2. I have used both with good results. I have been shooting with AI Servo with the FPS lowered from ten to eight FPS. I try… -

Re: Venturing into Multiple Flash Work
You were thinking you might get flamed! I am one of the ones JohnBiggs warned you about! I use the SB line-up 600/800 quite successfully. indoors, out of doors. Even between the two: Shooting through closed window. I often read that bright Sunlight causes problems. And somehow it must be causing problems for folks. But the… -
Re: I finally got it!!! Just wanted to tell people who are into cameras and stuff...
The 70-200 with a 1.4xTC = 98-280, so it's still a much shorter reach than the 100-400. Both lenses (all lenses) take advantage of the 1.6 crop factor, so you need to compare with or without the crop factor. So, if you include the crop factor... 70-200 f/2.8 w/ 1.4xTC -> 70*1.4*1.6 = 156.8, 200*1.4*1.6 = 448 -> 156.8-448… -
Re: Buying a Camera? How To Not Get Ripped Off.
My experiences I have found that if it looks too good to be true, it usually is. I rarely will consider buying anything on ebay, unless it is something like a hotshoe mount, cord, or some other non-mechanical/non-electronic item. I am a NAPP(photoshop user) and they give members free 3 day shipping at B&H. I also use my… -
Re: IE9 and Images
I didn't as well at the first glance, because an app/browser should be able to read the embedded profile (or assuming it is sRGB, as it was in the past with IE) and handle the information over to the monitor profile for further interpretation. BUT unlike with FF, Safari, FVP on which all the appearance of the image is… -

Re: a humble recommendation
Hi Y'all, I just received an e-mail from the folks at Sureshot that I thought I would pass on. "Ron asked that I discuss playability issues in reference to our DVDs. First, Volume 1 was recorded on a dual layer disc due to its length and our desire to maintain the quality of the images, etc.. Hence, an individual using a… -
Re: CFL bulbs
What I found when I used the inexpensive CFLs of CRI 92, which I thought might be good enough, is that some color tones would "punch up" while others would be subdued. It was not successful enough for accurate color rendition of anything important that I would shoot. The CFL products with a CRI of 98 were better, but…
