Re: Upgrade from 60d to full frame
The 1DIIN was a great camera, I had one. I now shoot sports with a 5D3, a 70-200/2.8, and a 300/2.8. It's fantastic, but just be careful about wishing for full frame. For field sports with a 70-200 it means you'll get fewer shots because you'll have to wait for the action to come closer. 200mm on FF is not that long. Sure… -

Gallery FILE ORDER Problem & Can't Access Controls
Hello SmugMug, I'm having a problem with 1 of my sites client galleries (just created yesterday). I set it up to put the images in FILE ORDER - Ascending 1-99 but they are skipping the first 2-99 for some reason and going from 1-10-100 and then 101-199 then 2-20-200 and so on. I've been labeling & exporting my finished… -
Riding In Style
As an unrepentant gear head, I love just about anything that has wheels and a motor. There's something about cars from the 30's and 40's, however, that really grab my attention. The cars you see here are classics of their time. I've spoken to these brands before, so no details of subsequence this time. I will note, though,… -
FS 22" HP P1230 Diamondtron Flatscreen Professional CRT Monitor
I have for sale one of the best CRT monitors that money can buy. Although this monitor would be great anything, it is intended for high-end graphics and video production or gaming due to it's great color accuracy. A 98% color gamut and resolutions up to 1600x1200 pixels (UXGA) mean that the P1230 can accurately reproduce… -
Little League shooters... is 200mm long enough?
Yeah, the answer's no, right? I remember using a 200mm awhile back and from what I remember it wasn't long enough. I guess most of you use 300 2.8s:D or some type of 300mm. Even a 300 f4 non-IS is out of the question. Does anyone use 200mm? So, assuming 200mm is NOT long enough, I've got two options. I can get a 1.4x TC… -
Re: Don't let this happen to you...Backup, Backup & Backup!
A suggestion I've read through this thread with interest and thought I should make a suggestion. I recently retired from my computer maintenance and repair business and have seen a lot of situations involving crashes and backups, etc. The information that I've read in this thread regarding external backup drives and… -
Re: Canon 7D
I'm afraid I have to agree with the other post, the camera does matter. As the owner of a XX0d/Rebel-class camera (that I am very happy with since it fits 98% of what I want to shoot) there have been pro situations where my camera stopped me. For example, I joined a friend in a studio but could not use the monolights… -
Re: Are the Smugmug servers overloaded?
Ouch, only 347kbps from home, completely different network - speedtest now realizes I'm in Pittsburgh, not our corpHQ in NY. Direct to the Speedtest Frederick POP gets 1300. Re: mpeg 2
I agree with everything you two just said (I don't have a problem with WMV though, I find it very convenient and a useful codec. I used it for over a year with no problems on my home server). MPEG-4 WOULD be much better than Flash...but I'd choose Flash over MPEG-1! Smugmug seems more inclined to use Flash over MPEG-4, so…
