Re: How would I do this?
Hi Joe! My name is Christina and I'm a Support Hero at SmugMug but, I'm also an equine photographer. I found your site listed in a customization thread so, I took a peek at what you're doing. (I'm also in Maryland, so pretty close to a lot of the events you've photographed!) I see that you are using categories but, you… -
Re: Nice to meet you.
Who are ya? I'm John, a little over 50 (but I believe I'm only 35), married to a great wife for 30 years, three wonderful married daughters and 4 grandchildren. Where are ya? Lancaster PA - home of Amish farmers and next door neighbor of Hershey PA (where chocolate comes from). I've lived here for 18 years. I've also lived… -
Re: Out and about Baden and Pfalz
Lorsch and Heppenheim From May to October the Rhine region is full of wine festivals. there is a free guide published by the government that lists all of them- Everywhere, from the smallest village to the largest city, has one. The wine is good, and incredibly cheap (one can get a fantastic white for about 2 Euros),… -
Re: Help me get into DSLR...
A little late to the discussion (sorry, out using the heck out of my gear again... :D). You're on the right track. Glass is more important than the body. Bodies will come & go, glass will last through several bodies. The 24-70 and 24-105 are both excellent lenses, but are two different tools for two different jobs. The… -

Re: What lens(es) for me?
Lots of ways to do with this choice. Starting with lens choices is a good way to start, but again, you have some real choice. I do suggest that a 2 lens solution is probably best to start with and I suggest that a "standard" zoom plus a "telephoto" zoom would solve most of your shooting situations. If you are pretty sure… -
Re: Newbie here, would love some advice!
Ok so I should look for a film camera (*edit* - AF film camera) with an EF lens mount (is that for all brands, or only Canon?). I've altered my prince range quite a bit so that I can save money for a better camera (digital or film) once I know what my preferences are. I think I would now like to stay right around a $100 so… -

Re: Continious Lighting Studio and RAW Help
It would be nice to have more information about the lighting and about the shoot and post-processing used. What type of "continuous" light were you using? (Tungsten, fluorescent, LED, etc.) What camera body and lens? (Please be as specific as possible for both the camera body and the lens.) What shutter speed? Was the…
