Re: >DSS #9: Dusk or Dawn Feedback Thread
You know, I think it says something about the high quality of all the entries that so few of the pictures are appearing on every single list - there really are an awful lot of fabulous images to choose from! And I am BESIDE myself to be included in a couple of people's lists - I'm such a beginner, and feel so completely… -
Re: Topaz InFocus released
Well, there are my initial ruminations, which are here: http://www.dgrin.com/showthread.php?t=145470&highlight=topaz+detail. Since I posted that, Detail has gotten much much faster. I like being able to do small, medium, and large radius sharpening without worrying about halos. I certainly don't use Detail for every… -

Re: >>> LPS#10 Feedback thread
Wow, judging was tough, but I had a great time. Thanks again Shay for the opportunity. I'm just going to start with comments on my top 10. 41 - Tentacion - Under The Pier I really love the chaos of this image. I actually feel like I’m in danger looking at it. It fits the theme spot on. Great shot. I'm sorry this did not… -
Re: smugmug and color management
Hi dkapp, Man that's a gorgeous shot. This is an odd one because the smugmug-resized version is not only less saturated but less warm as well. At first I suspected the original was saved in Adobe RGB, which would explain the lower color saturation, but it wouldn't explain the higher magenta values in your hand-resized… -

Re: Monthly Assignment #2: Natural Light Portrait
You are absoletelly right about what you have been saying but as you know, all depends very much of the social context. How many pictures of Americans do you see in this assignment ? How many peopel don't care for beeing in the net ? See what I mean ? I do have written about this before. Today I am going to shoot a baby, 1… -
Re: Heads up: aRGB and Prophoto files now converted to sRGB on upload
Just a bystander, I hope you don't mind me chiming in. In the 2 pics that baldy posted, the skin tones in the aRGB one are bluish on my monitor. In the smugmug help files (which use info from dan margules I believe) we learn this: The surprising power of cyan On pleasing photos, cyan usually falls between 30% to 50% of the… -
Re: First Post

I use Canon equipment. With these two images I used a Canon 40D + Canon 70-200mm f4L. The first image's exif is Camera Make: Canon Camera Model:…
