Re: What would you do...?
Well, I'm thinking of not using any photos and just making it an "informational" sheet.. I got some comments that people think the photos are expensive (apparently, photos take no time to produce, edit, white balance, correct, etc..), so I want to explain the "Why" to the parents. Things like the paper we use (archive… -
Re: Do too many use B&W as the easy way out?
BD, When I shoot my Canon cameras in RAW + jpg, with the color style set to monochrome ( and I can choose a red, orange, yellow or blue filter, ) what I see on the LCD is a B&W image. That is what the jpgs are saved as. But the RAW file still allows me to return to a color image without any loss if I so desire. Do the… -
Re: Microsoft to add RAW support
Sure, I appreciate that, I was being slightly flippant. No offence taken or intended. Oh indeed, most haven't been subjected, and their opinions might be different if they had. I resist the judgement of 'better'. What is good for people is a lot more complex than technical merits. Afterall technicall Mac OS 9 was a product… -
Re: Need some help.
In Photoshop they look fine because it is a color managed environment. I believe that SmugMug converts the ICC Profile to sRGB prior to printing. I'm not sure how they handle Internet display. http://help.smugmug.com/customer/portal/articles/93362 From that page: "When SmugMug receives non-sRGB photos, what do you do? We… -
FS: Photo/Video Editing PVR PC
I built this PC to actually be a PVR (Personal Video Recorder - like a TiVo) but actually used it more for video and photo editing. I'm putting the box up here first, but if there are no bites, it's going to be sold for parts on the 'Bay. This was built to "QuietPC" standards, so even at full tilt, you wouldn't know the… -
Monitor Profile Settings in CS2 - calibrated or sRGB
I want to improve people photo prints (the photography, too, but that's another issue...). I'm trying to follow a simple color managed workflow with simple post processing in CS2. The skin tones in the prints are too red and often a bit green. I've read the help on getting the red out, pleasing skin tones, monitor… -
New Styles: Journal Medium, Journal Large
I have posted this request whenever it seemed appropriate knowing I could get in trouble for being repetitive. But JT asked me if I had "mocked up" my Idea, so I figured I would start a thread on it... I don't want to clutter the Request thread. The current Journal Style uses Small pics - 400 wide - (about 20kb's) --too… -
NASCAR at Martinsville
More than two years living in the heart of NASCAR country, Charlotte, NC, and I still haven't been to a race down here - I still make the two-a-year trips to Pocono, but haven't attended anything more than an open test session in the South. I changed that the week before last, heading up to Martinsville Speedway, about two… -
