Re: 28-70 canon vs 28-135 canon
I assume you mean Canon's 24-70/2.8L lens. More money than the 28-135. Noticeably larger and heavier. But in my opinion, owning both, the L glass is worth the money and I don't use the 28-135 any more. Better color, better clarity. The only thing the 28-135 has going for it is nearly twice the telephoto reach plus the… -
Re: Canon 135mm f2L vs. 135mm f2.8
I have the 135 2.0L and I love it. I use it for shooting action (dog sports) in low light. Usually badly lit indoor buildings. I think it would be fine for hockey. I haven't used the 135 2.8 (didn't know they had one) but I LOVE the 135 2.0L I think it's a great lens. I also have the 70-200 2.8 is and use it a lot but I… -

Re: Pentax K-5 introduced
Pentax seems to have bypassed the FF 135 format in favor of the Pentax 645D, which is just a little larger than FF 135. http://www.dgrin.com/showthread.php?t=168836 Prices were just announced and, at around $10,000USD, it's well positioned against FF 135 cameras like the Canon 1Ds MKIII and the Nikon D3x. -
Re: Looking for input on Canon 28-135 IS lens
I shot with the 28-135 for many years and it is a fine lens. When bought my 5D (before that I shot film), I upgraded to the 24-105L. The 28-135 doesn't have that crisp sweetness that the 24-105 does, but unless you are making large prints you won't notice the difference. I've been meaning to sell my 28-135 but haven't… -

Re: Lens Decision Help!
I've used both quite extensively. The main differences are right there on paper, 1 stop vs. IS, zoom vs. 135 prime, heavy vs. not so heavy. Qualitatively they are both excellent lenses. Both are very sharp and focus quickly. Both have the ability to produce top quality images. But should you purchase the 135 if you already…
