Correct. It can be if you specifically request it and if it gets manager approval. Note for warranty replacements you will likely NEVER get the original drive back, as Apple has to get reimbursed by the drive manufacturer for the bum part. Yes, along those lines, I have seen Lightroom tax 4 cores when multiple jobs processing many images each are running in parallel. The CPU graphs looked saturated and the load average went above 3, which usually doesn't happen. I'll bet you're right that we wouldn't see that if working on a single image. -

17" Macbook Pro arrived today. 2 things: 1) they have trimmed the packaging by 1/2 at least, and it's still packed like a Faberge Egg. You did check the sound preferences, right? Sometimes just changing something in there will fix that kind of problem. You could also try resetting the PRAM (hold down cmd-opt-p-r all at once after the startup chime, and hold it down for 3 more chimes before letting go and allowing the system to start up). -

Okay, the dh needs a new laptop. His 3 yr old HP 17 inch has been compromised and doesn't appear to be recoverable. I say "get a mac" but he would use it for work (MS Office primarily) tasks, and insists he needs a keyboard with number pad. So is the only way to achieve this with a Macbook to use an add on keyboard? ann -

software OK got a new Macbook intel 2 core laptop and want to try out the Boot Camp XP option. Anyone have a legal extra copy of XP pro with SP2, mine are all pre SP2. Also anyone got a copy CS2 or 3 or simular software they would like to deal on? Fantastic machine but wow the MAC software is pricey!!
