I saw chess in the games. I don't play much, don't have the brains for it. But playing by myself, it's hard to be humilated. So I might be playing more chess. :uhoh
1) they have trimmed the packaging by 1/2 at least, and it's still packed like a Faberge Egg. Nicely done, Apple.
2) setting up a Mac, has to be the most enjoyable experience of any computer setup. 3 minutes, in and done, and then it connects to homebase and updates itself all automatically. Suweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet

My two-button Logitech USB mouse plugs right into my MAC and is recognized instantly - no software to find or load, no drivers to mess with - just seemless recognition and instant operation. I have never used the one button MAC mouse for this reason. I like my Logitech two button mouse.
Interstingly, Nightingale does use the Apple single button mouse, and prefers it.
Macs are predisposed to favor keyboard commands as they tend to be faster than a mouse in experienced users hands and fingers. Think of which is faster in Photoshop ctrl-J for a new layer or mousing through the dropdown menu commands for a new layer.
You just press the ctrl-Key and the button on the MAC mouse for a right-click. It is kind a like learning a new trick, but not that hard to figure out. It means that you keep you fingers of your left hand on the keyboard at all times - this probaly is as fast, if not faster than a two button mouse in experienced users hands.
Apple, lets you do it your way also. I kind of like having the choice myself.

More importantly, the ergonomics absolutely suck. The design is an unnatural fit for the hand.
If Apple weren't so obstinate they'd simply accept that the rest of the world is getting it right with mice, and forget about being different simply for the sake of being different.

On a somewhat related note, is it possible to get a drop down menu on the Safari address line? In other browsers, if you type in a URL, later you can quickly access it by clicking on the address bar's drop down menu. In Safari, you have to Apple-L, then begin typing the URL before you get a list of previously entered similar addresses. Is there a way to make Safari emulate other browers' address bar drop-down menu?

I have to say that for video editing, the Mighty Mouse is fantastic. I love the horizontal scrolling, and I use it on my timeline all the time.
If I weren't using it for editing, I would probably feel differently about it, though.
