Re: Canon 7D or Nikon D7000
The Canon 7D and the Nikon D300s are the top-of-the-line APS-C format camera bodies for their respective manufacturers. There is no 1:1 relationship between Canon and Nikon, so it's best to choose your equipment based on your needs and how "you" work with the camera. This includes the user interface and location of… -
Re: If I stay with SmugMug, what can I do...
I take it you do not pay for any hosting outside of SM? I will say that there are a multitude of ways to really step your footprint up. For instance. I purchased hosting over at GoDaddy. I pay I think it's like $80 a year for that hosting. Now, with that hosting I can basically host twenty websites. 1. I keep my SM simply… -
Re: stealing my photos please help
For sports and cheer do Viewstations at the event or sell CDS that are prepaid. No booking, no shoot. Simple. vstations are cheap as chips to set up and the hourly rate you'll pay someone to look after it will be returned 50 fold if your doing things right. I don't think a sports shooter can afford to put pics on line… -
Re: Watermarks:
Not a bad catch. And an interesting viewpoint. But I am sure there are many other Wildlife Photographers, that DO employ Watermarks, as do the Stock Agencies. But it only took one Copyright Infringement for me to change my outlook on this matter. It was when a Nationally Known and Awarded Artist purchased some on my prints… -
Re: Ai lenses on D7000 - focussing?
That is correct. Ai and Ai-S lenses are manual focus only, they have zero electronics, (unless they are especially chipped) and they are mostly from the 70's / 80's before AF was even invented. You are correct to assume that the D7000 does indeed have a mechanical coupling that will allow you to meter freely in both… -
Re: Pros need help!!!
Clickin Girl, You are in the same boat I have been for the last year. In Texas you need the following at a minimum: 1. Sales Tax ID - and file your tax report quarterly. You can collect sales tax though smugmug. Penalties are stiff in Texas. 2. Business insurance for gear and liability - Once you collect a dime on your… -
Concert Opera Redux
(I wasn't sure where to post this initially and went with PJ where it has died a death, so am resurrecting it over here - possibly more fitting since the first gig I did for these folks was also shared here in People. Sorry for those who've already seen them, and apologies if I've breached a no-cross-posting rule… -
Our trip to Baguio
December 29 2006 - January 1 2007 probably are the greatest days of this holiday season for me. We went to Baguio for the second time this month. To get there, you need to pass 5 provinces: Bulacan, Pampanga, Tarlac, Pangasinan and La Union (small part only). It takes about 7 hours including stopovers. It was so long we… -
Canada, USA and beyond....
I'd like to quickly recap an ongoing journey that I and my wife have undertaken. We have been keeping track of this on our blog if you would like to read further into our adventures from the start but set aside some time as there are over 100 hundred lengthy posts and counting. Click here to read it from the begining or… -
Long Term Planning so my gear lust doesn't break me!
I have a BUNCH of Olympus gear... and I love it...:lust but a part of me wants to switch over to Canon or Nikon due to the better high-ISO performance. I love shooting natural light photos and Olympus can be a little limiting some times. I tried a friend's Nikon D90 and was blown away in the differences between taking a…
