Re: LCD Monitor Suggestions
OK! Did you mean to say that you "cannot" afford or is this stated correctly? (you have a healthy budget if so!) Have you read this thread? The Anand LCD Thread http://forums.anandtech.com/messageview.aspx?catid=31&threadid=2049206&enterthread=y Read at least the first two posts in it as they have the technical info and… -

Re: Documentation Bugs: smugmug.albums.getInfo
Sorry, I must be getting tired... The modified software works against XML-RPC 1.1.0, so we can assume that all the bugs apply to that as well. Sample response: [php] <?xml version="1.0"?> <methodCall> <methodName>smugmug.albums.getInfo</methodName> <params> <param> <value> <string>...</string> </value> </param> <param>… -
Re: Monolites?
Does the modelling light "follow" the flash output? (If the modelling light dims at the same rate as the flash, it is easier to visualize the light ratios for some subjects.) From what I can tell they do not follow the flash output. It would be helpful if they did but price wins out for me on this one. Are the lights… -
Re: Urgh!!!
I myself am not a professional photographer, but I am in the same position as you. The route I chose to take was exactly what has been mentioned on here. I got on Google and looked for local photogs. I met the guy that I am now interning for and it has been great! I can tell you from the experiences I have had so far is… -
Re: Lightroom plugin, Video, Trim, etc.
David, thanks. Sure. I'll send PM with the link to the video. I think I may understand part of the issue. This is a bit convoluted, and may be two different issues. Here's what I just did, more slowly, to make sure I understood it. 1) Import the indicated video into lightroom. 2) Make a virtual copy. 3) Trim the original… -
Re: Replace this lens or buy a new one?
If you allow $700 as your working budget, I suggest a 2-lens upgrade: KEH.com has a PROMASTER 17-50 F2.8 ASPHERICAL IF LD XR EDO MACRO (67), which I believe is just a rebadged Tamron lens. It is a major improvement over what you had and what you are considering (the 18-200mm) in terms of image quality and light gathering… -
Re: The SmugMug and Lightroom 3 Publish Services Thread
I've tried completely removing the plugin, exiting LR, reinstalling the plugin, this time in the LR plugin path rather than out in space on my D: drive where I thought I was just putting a temporary copy, and it STILL won't update. I currently have 1.0.2.22 and its still offering 1.0.2.25 ... my plugin is in C:\Program… -
Re: Upload errors
Well, I think you may be onto something John. Here's a copy of my tracert and it looks just like yours. And I'm on the other side of the US, so I'm coming from a completely different route:D:\>tracert upload.smugmug.comTracing route to upload-v2-1649360212.us-east-1.elb.amazonaws.com [204.236.231.18]over a maximum of 30… -
Keywords and the Lightroom Smugmug plugin
Hi, I have some questions and some problems mostly related to keywords on Smugmug and using the Lightroom plugin. For information, I am running Lightroom 5.4 with the 2.1.1 version of the Smugmug Plugin on an iMac on OSX 10.9.2. I am still running legacy Smugmug but I enabled the new Smugmug preview a few days ago. The…
