Re: Vegas - night shots in particular
Andy, I have a real good friend who lives/works in Vegas. This is what he said: Try this : Sunset Rd. off Las Vegas Bl. beside the airport. Most of the west end roads off Las Vegas Bl goes up hill which allows you to look back down at the strip. Out on Blue Diamond Rd is nice, If you go to the Stratoesphere Tower, it puts… -
Re: Let there be light!
Ziggy - I like the Flashpoint lights from Adorama too. Their wedding kit with a pair of 620s work nicely for me, but that is beyond Marina's $300 limit. Marina - try this link - http://mpex.com/Strobist/ The link I posted earlier was just to the home page, this link is to the page with the Strobist specific kits. You want… -

Re: C&C on a couple of portraits?
So I went into CS4 and pulled up a Levels Layer. Whites didn't start clipping until I got to 215 (and that was just the T-shirt). There wasn't any clipping in the face region until I got down to 190. Those numbers are out of 255 (max value for 8-bit color). If you are looking in LR2, then those numbers are percents, but if… -

Re: Dominican Republic trip
For this trip we requested rooms in the hotel. They ended up getting us "luxury" rooms with golf carts included (for transportation, not for golfing). The rooms have the typical "mini bar" (full of stuff), a large HD LCD TV (with standard-def programming), Bose "Wave Radio", couch, easy chair, full bath and dressing area,… -
Re: I Need Help Too
See if either of these pages help. I found them by googling for "canon 40d err 06 self-cleaning". The first one, from Canon themselves, says a firmware update will correct bogus Err 06 messages. I don't know what version of the firmware you have, but if you're using a version earlier than 1.1.1, you might try updating and… -

Batteries on the river, Arizona sun in the sky...
I'm doing a 14 day oar trip down the Colorado this summer and I've got a couple of questions for everyone. I've been down twice already on 8 day trips and I've always had a grip handy for using AAs in my 40D & Reb XT "just in case." This trip I'm planning to not bring my, ah, "bigger than a breadbox" Pelican Case to avoid…
