There are lots of differences between those 2 lenses. The Nikkor AF-S 18-200mm, f3.5-5.6G IF-ED DX VR II has a much greater range but a much smaller effective aperture at the long end of the range. The 24-70 is about as heavy as I am willing to go, personally. I don't do the whole 70-200 thing, not until Nikon makes an f/4 VR version that is as sharp as Canon's. Personally, for anyone planning on sticking with crop sensors for at least a year or two, I'd get maybe the 24-70, then the Sigma 50-150 2.8, and the TOkina… -
