Fire!
Some of the shots from a fire last week. I've never shot outside before, let alone action outside. The only thing I've done with this gear is shoot gymnastics. So there's a bit of a learning curve, and as you can see, some of the photos are blown out. I stayed way back at first because I didn't want to get in the… -
FS: Christmas Stocking Stuffers (US mostly)
I can ship to Canada via either USPS first class or priority, however priority is very expensive compared to first class. Please email me if you are interested in something going to Canada and I don't call out the extra shipping, and I will get back to you. Prices otherwise reflect shipping and paypal in the US. SOLD: Sony DSC-F717 Cybershot Digital Camera with Extras
For Sale: Sony DSC-F717 Cybershot Digital Camera with Extras I love this camera! This was my third digital camera and has been my favorite, but it’s time to move to another camera. I purchased this camera in June 2003 at Best Buy for $900. All of the pictures on my SmugMug site (http://shaunnelson.smugmug.com) have been… -
Re: Getting my race photos organized
This is a bit more than you asked for, but given what you're trying to do, I think you need to be looking at more than how you are setting up your website.... I would highly recommend that you look at a DAM system for organization of the images. When you are shooting an event with 1000 participants, this is really the only… -
Re: Changing the default view of images in public galleries
Thanks again Denise, Right now, I have someone enquiring about certain photos I have and I would like to let them view them but I do not want them to be able to just take them. My watermark is still not showing up in this gallery. I've set it so that original size is available, it is just that I would prefer that the… -
Re: Need Advice on Lighter Alternative for Sports Photos
My answer is going to be much less on the technology side of the equation - Ziggy has already dealt with those issues. I want to know how satisfied you are with the AF of the 7D. I used a 7D a lot from the day it was introduced, until the 7DMkii and the 70D were introduced. But does the 7D offer everything you desire… -
Re: Various pricing and sizes on a site
What's your day rate? What's your hourly rate and post-processing worth? Break it all down from there. Come up with a simple cost-per-hour equation. Let's assume you wanna snare the under-12 girls soccer circuit. Three local teams, 16-20 players each, team photos plus cheesy iso shots of the kids in uniform, foot on ball.… -
Re: Daniel O'Connell's House in Ireland
Hello SuperJared. I use Canon equipment. The camera is a 20D, the lens a 16~35 f:2.8 LUSM and the flash is the 430 EX with a white "condom" :D. As you may know the crop for the 20D is 1.6. I am sorry I could not have a lens with wider angle to get a better crop... The flash was directed somewere. No direct flash. Bounced.… -
Re: Steichen's Pond-Moonlight
The following is all very much my opinion, and, as such, it is worth exactly what you are paying for it. (Nada) The image has several aspects which lend value beyond a simple photograph. Its age is considerable, produced in 1904, and must be compared with other works of that era. In that context, it stands far above other… -
Re: monitor info
TFT Panels If it was indeed an IPS panel that would be a good start. Many of today's larger LCD HDTV screens (over 40 inches) use a variant of an MVA panel. These show a distinct loss of contrast and color inaccuracy when you get more than 25 degrees off centre. So if you're sitting close, the edges of screen will not look…
