    Why not?

I did not even really realize my G9 had a movie mode when I bought it, but I find it useful from time to time for short video segments. It is not a video camera, but video can be really informative at times.

plus you can use all of your lenses, fisheye, wide angle, tele, hard to get that combo in a camcorder, plus you have control over depth of field, etc. I will be interested to see how well it works, but for short clips. thumb.gif

I'd use movie mode from time to time. Shooting short movies with a 135/2? Sure, I'd use it if I had it.

Any idea about frame rates, John?

The current 5D is kind of a weak sister in that department ( a 5D is my main camera body, so no flames pleasethumb.gif:D )

I am kinda hoping that the new 5D II has 1-series AF but gimps the frame rate, but that's just me. My primary complaint about my current 5D is the weak AF, but the frame rate has never bothered me.

I assumed the AF would have to at least be as good as the 40D'sne_nau.gif

I'd like at least 3 of the extra sensitive f/2.8 sensors which currently the 40D and the 5D only have in the center and ideally I'd like them to focus in lower light and with f/8 lenses. Second on my list would be a servo mode which actually works; particularly at close range with fast lenses.

No tree huggers. That's why you can sometimes have focus problems when shooting a room of conservative Republicans.
