One of the great things about the forum is that you find others with the same, um, 'eclectic' tastes as you: schmoo, long before she was a moderator got my attention with her wonderful abandoned, desolete buildings.
Turns out that Aaron (anwmn1) also loves those. But he and I also share another deep passion: Pictures of Dead Trees! :huh
So here it is, the Dead Tree Thread.
To get started, this one was taken in the morning of Sat. Oct 4 at Oak Creek, near Sedona, as we headed out to Moab.
Adam, I know you are out there, so start posting. :deal

Considering the sun was at your back I'd LOVE to see this image with the afternoon glow. I am guesing it was 4 hours away? I know, long time to sit with a tree.

Nice!
I love the minimalism of this image.
Here is one from Arches, along the 'park avenue' trail. Shot it just before it was in the shade.

I was confused by the thread title, though. Being an old school computer geek, the first thing that popped into my head was "Why pictures of books?"
What a great idea for a thread, particularly the timing! Thanks for the idea and I've put it in our sticky (of course!)

Shot this one at a stream near my brother's in Richmond, Maine. I have several others views of it but I like the colors of this one.

I found this tree stump on the last day of the Utah 2008 Shootout in Arches NP. While driving on La Sal Loop road, I detoured on a dirt road going up to Geyser Pass.
