Back in the late 1970's, the lone Jeffery Pine tree on top of Yosemite's Sentinel Dome died due to drought. Part of that tree is still there, still posing for pictures.
I was up there for sunset last night and captured this view of sunset (as seen through the "eyes" of that tree):

This shot was originally posted in the landscape thread, and was suggested that it be posted here. the tree is in Yellowstone National Park at Mammoth Hot Spring. The bacteria in the water killed the tree as the sedimentary limestone surrounded it. Enjoy.
