here is Andy taking that first shot [great one ] and liking what he see's then Gus shooting Andy and Sam shooting Gus .I got a plumber shot to boot Andy thanks again for all the trouble you went thru and having this great idea As you can see we only had a little FUN
jeff, that's very cool - thanks for posting this one !
Awesome Andy! The water in the first one is sooo dramatic! Very cool anticipating the needed long exposure for the water and compensating with the ND filter so that you would not blow out the sky.
Susan
thank you very much, susan though i should say, the nd filter i used was not graduated, so it's only effect was to slow the water down and blur it the exposure i managed through proper raw conversion..
Flowing water is one of those things I really like. You need about 1/2 second exposure to get a good blend, and 2-3 seconds make it look "foggy."
It should go without saying, of course, that a tripod is mandatory for this. I saw a lot of people trying to take pictures over the weekend without a tripod... it's 100% certain your landscape images will suffer greatly without one, because you lose so much flexibility in what you can do. When I started shooting from a tripod, the percentage of my shots that I really liked went from maybe 1 in 200 to 1 in 50, which ain't bad
A good, heavy tripod is one of the finest optical improvements you can buy for your lenses. Modest lenses, used properly on a tripod, will frequently outperform expensive lenses that are heand held. And good tripod is a joy forever.:):
