    Dang Harry,

Those images really capture the immensity of scale of the event. clap.gifclap

My grandparents used to winter in Okeechobee and they saw several of the early flights.

I am truly envious of anyone who has seen any of the launches. I hope you get to do it again.

I watched on TV (from North Carolina...) and immediately thought to get on here and harass Harry about pics from the launch. Glad he delivered! :D

Good thing I got this up before you could harass me. :D

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

One of the things I miss about living in Florida was getting out to the Cape to watch launches. I had a few of those 3 mile passes on occasion and it is down right indescribable to explain the power and fury that one feels. Even at nine miles it is incredible.

Until you see one in person you have no idea of the impact of a launch. Watching it on TV just doesn't do it.

    Harry,

    Very nice shots. thumb.gif

I was shooting at Merritt Island NWR the weekend before and considered going back to shoot the shuttle. You made me wish that I had followed through with the trip.

Thanks Z. The next shuttle launch is 2/14. I would love to shoot that one too but Linda might have other plans for Valentine's Day.

If it stays on track, the Feb. 12 launch will be a pretty one coming at 7:30am, just after sunrise. The time gets about 25 minutes earlier each day, so it will be a colorful one on the 12th 13th or 14th (then is a night launch on the 15th and beyond).

I hope you got some good shots at MINWR. You should have stayed for the launch though.
