Some of you may (or may not :D) have noticed that I haven't been around for a while. Well the pics should tell you where we started!!

Flight VS001 London Heathrow - Newark 20/04/05

My brother lives just outside New York, so the first morning I was up early & grabbed a ride into the city with my brother on his way to work. A quick :rolleyes visit to B&H (what a shop) and then a wander around shooting whilst I waited for my wife and SIL to turn up at Penn Station

Beautiful wing shot, Gubbsie. And I like this sucker a lot too, very NYC post-911 to my eyes.

Thanks Sid and Nik, you'll have to be patient 2 weeks before DV :D

Friday we left my bothers for a couple of nights in the city rain stopped play a little but we all met up with andy for a good cuban lunch and then on to starbucks and GC. It was pretty dim but still managed to catch some chimping

    21841850-L.jpg

andy (Cheers Mate thumb.gif)also happened to have a couple of spare tickets for the Yankees game, We don't know anything about baseball, but beer, hotdogs and popcorn are a great combination so, despite the cold we had a fantastic time, even though the Yankees were slaughtered :cry

Great series Gubbsie. Your twilight shots are very nice - the statues and the hotel lights as well as the above shot too. I look forward for more of your work. Were all these shot with a tripod or handheld too?

Thanks Tim, some of the tilts were deliberate but I'm not sure about this one, My wife & SIL were 2 hours late so I killed some time in a couple of the Irish bars round Penn, so I may have to thank my good friend Sam Adams for this one rolleyes1.gif

I didn't realize that these guys are almost exclusively Irish, our driver was originally from Tipperarie (sp??:D), moved over 19 years ago, very friendly, funny, knowledgeable and an altogether great guide

    21924176-L.jpg
The horse gets her wages too :D
    21924036-L.jpg
In conversation it came up that the driver had visited our home town of Reading on the way back from a wedding, He was mugged there, what a proud moment rolleyes1.gif

The weather was very British for most of the rest of the day so didn't shoot too much, we wandered down to Battery park and then back through Soho for some shopping (and the biggest sandwich ever :D)

    21919806-L.jpg
before heading back through Time Square
    21924311-L.jpg

And then off to Lexington & 51st for a bit of shopping for me :D
