    Hi,

I just made my first entry into this challenge (just first ever i should say). I am hoping I didn't goof up. I just read the response re: EXIF. How can I check if mine uploaded?

    thanks
Firstly, you check exif simply by mousing over your image in the gallery - a little menubar will pop up on the right side, simply click on the "Info" button and the details will pop up on the left side, as shown:

    20090106-c2i4pn1p7ux8y8dx3s3cjs8s2m.render.png

Now, secondly, as mentioned, this image was shot outside the challenge period and is therefore ineligible, so I've deleted it. Sorry - but definitely go shoot another!!!

Curt... that's a much nicer way to say blunt! thanks!
Now if I didn't take the picture in the qualifying period can I upload some EXIF from another picture that I did...

Since I'm new to this challenge, I'm not sure I did it right. I posted two pictures in wildlife. If I could figure out how to link it, I'll get back to you rolleyes1.gif

there are 3 new photos in the entry gallery with nothing in the caption beside "SONY DSC"

    http://challenges.smugmug.com/gallery/6945681_onzG8#450783369_hnNFu

    this is back to basics:
    • 1 entry per person
    • must be captioned
    these entries will be deleted.
    thanks,

Thanks for the info. And no problems about deleting my entry. My fault for not paying more attention to the rules. Will try to get a new entry in for this challenge.

umm.....I uploaded my image and since mine is a composite I put several exif files to prove all images were taken in the correct time frame and all. Well it seems that adding that much info messes up the position of the image when you click on the thumbnail. But the rest of the gallery is ok...so I hope this doesnt cause a problem. I just want to be sure that there is no questions on all my images used for this one. Let me know if there is a way to add links without so many characters....

Ok...I need a clarification on a question. I read the rules (every time I enter I re read). They say "Post Processing: As a digital photography challenge, there are no limits on post-processing, unless stated otherwise for a "special" challenge round."

My question...if I paint some lightning bolts using a paint program to an existing picture that would otherwise qualify...does that meet this challenges rule as post processing?

I just don't want to find out after the challenge is over that I am disqualified if I enter one like that. I wouldn't be asking if I didn't think it would enhance my photo tremendously.

You can paint clown faces, if it makes you happy.

JAG, for most people, reading is hard, but in your case, I'm editing that saying to: too much reading is hard. lol3.gif

Shoot, share, synthesize bolts of lightning, rock on!

Well the real thing would have been more impressive if I can control lightnening. But you can see the synthesized bolts HERE. Please leave a comment on what you think!

Correction: I'm not "down there" anymore... although I wish I was - after two years of barely needing a sweater, winter up in New England is really sucking my will to live!

Question, and yes, I've re-read the rules but didn't find the answer.
What size photo can or should we upload to the gallery?
Is 800 on the long side still the size?

I see that XL is an option, so is 1024 on the long side now the norm?

    Thanks.
    dave.
