Or just draw the whole thing in PS - we've never been against that. It's always been about the "majority" or "base" image.
That's a good one.
I draw like a blind man with Parkinson's. If I could draw, i would have bought a 10 cent pencil instead of a three thousand dollar camera
Drawing is not an option.

Hahaha...I'm in the same boat, and I'm in a drawing class in school. I know how ya feel.
Just a quick bullet I made in PS really quick. Might try messing around with it.
I used the Elliptical Marquee Tool and filled in the color for the actual bullet tip. Erased what I didn't want.
Then a rectangular Marquee Tool and filled in the color for the casing. Erased to the shape of a casing on one side. Copy and pasted it. Flip Horizontally, line up, crop and save. Fairly easy. Not perfect results, as it was just a quick jobbie, but none the less a bullet.

Wow, I wish, I can't even make stick people look good, ...What a good job for a "quickie" edit.
Peace,
Donna
You're only as good as your next photo....
One day, I started writing, not knowing that I had chained myself for life to a noble but merciless master. When God hands you a gift, he also hands you a whip; and the whip is intended solely for self-flagellation...I'm here alone in my dark madness, all by myself with my deck of cards --- and, of course, the whip God gave me." I'm totally with you on that! If I had any artistic ability, why would I need to use a camera?

there is a difference between artistic ability and the ability to draw or paint.
It takes and artistic eye to be able to see the things I see in all the pictures on here.
So, see there! You are an artist.... just an expensive one.
Well I'm only a n00b here but I just submitted my first challenge photo. My Daughter will probably kill me, but then that's the look she is giving me in the photo anyway

Wow, good picture. What are the odds we both, at the same time, were working on photos with the same theme! I had just looked at the gallery before I posted mine. I about fell over when I saw yours.

Here goes nothing..!
This challenge inspired one of my daily photographs, so I figured I may as well try out a DG challenge. Hope I got everything right.
One question: I know I'm supposed to write my DG username and title as the comment, but (and this is a long stretch, but bear with me) if I win, is there ever a way to edit the title to include a hyperlink back to my own smugmug page? Or do people have to view the gallery, search for you on DG, and then find a link back to your own gallery?
Perhaps this would be easier if my DG username was my smugmug gallery URL, but, this is just an easy forum name (because it's never taken), not necessarily something I want to use as a URL.
Hopefully this will be a useful question for someone else as well.

PS: Another question: I use an old manual focus lens on my Nikon D80, so some of the exif (focal length and aperture, and maybe other things) does not come through. I assume this is ok?
The exif info should be fine. We look mainly for the date taken.
As far as people finding your website, all they need to do is click on your avatar and select to go to your homepage. What you set up as your homepage URL is up to you. We do not add shooters web addresses to any of the images, winners or not. You will not be able to edit your image comments after the close of the round.

(JessicaT and HamSandwich - excellent shots, sorry. But please note for next time, photos must be "fresh", taken during the 2-week challenge period)

I was thinking on getting a CS4 when I got my Wacom Intuos3 earlier this week. It came with a version of PS elements 6 and they gave me an offer to upgrade that to CS4 for half the price. So far I am not impressed by the PSE and am wondering if I should save my money and just get Lightroom as I hear it does great with RAW files and skin tones.
Until I get a better program to deal with RAW...I will not shoot anymore RAW. Its a waste of space.<!-- / message --><!-- sig -->

Re-create the bit you need (take shot of a bullet and of some steam) and then put it back

No bullets here, it's against my parole.:D
Maybe I'll figure something out, maybe not. No big deal.

Same boat here... That's where the awesomeness of PS and its tools come in play. They draw the straight line and curves for you...

Nice, but couldn't you just shoot in monochrome and save time?
