First of all, I loved all the entries. There were definitely a few that brought back memories of my joys as a kid, and one's that reminded me of my own son and his joys.
Because of this, that is how I decided which one for the winner. There were two that really stood out for me because of my greatest joy as a child...which was always being with my best friend. So the two it came down too were:
1. By AirThom
2. By AaronNelson
It was a tough choice for me between these, but came down to the joys of having that best friend (or relative) to share in yet another joy...sports. So the winner is AirThom: Congrats!!!!
Congrats AirThom
I see the same two pictures here... just to let you know... maybe try editing and fixing the link so that it shows AaronNelson's pic....too...thumb
anyways............
A BIG CONGRATS TO ""AIRTHOM""...
It was my favorite too... it invoked a lot of emotion and memory of childhood when I looked at it too.... Nice Capture...clap
It's a great idea, I did a similar one with my daughter. I held her arms and spun while my wife held the camera against my chest and fired away...
Definitely want to try it again soon though...
Thanks, I'll have to try that. I love both yours and PaulThomasMcKee's images... I just need to work out how to get the camera angle such that it looks like its coming from the swinger... as in PaulThomasMcKee's. Could be interesting, since my hubby's a full 12 inches taller than I. Maybe I'll have to do the swinging! Then again I did a shot of a family on a merry go round that I love, but it made me dizzy then... and still does, just thinking about it!. I might have to pop a dramamine first! Cheers!
I'm glad you liked it...Here's the "Making Of" thread if you're interested.
Your merry go round shot is fantastic! I love the expressions on everyone's faces! Especially the littlest one. How did you fasten down your camera?
Thanks!
Looks like you guys had fun making the shot... I'll tuck that away for future fun with the boys.
For the merry go round shot - I was just hand holding... but I was tucked in tightly (legs somehow entwined) with the merry go round itself, hunkered down, and if I recall, I had one or both arms (left I'm guessing by the camera angle), hooked over the bars. It was surprisingly stable... and I didn't notice the vertigo at all until I was done shooting and got off the structure. Then... :sick
