Sorry I think I got Dogdots and Micki reversed, Dogdots are the scenics and Micki's are the portraits.

Dogdots, we did lighten your first order, on 2nd one we are shipping out we lightened more.

I too have had very poor results with BayPhoto (Images way to dark, missing hardware, rude and unresponsive customer support). I wish I had done more research before placing orders with them. There is definitely a problem with there print process as my major complaint is dark prints! They have treid every angle to place blame elsewhere as they will not take responsibillity. I actually paid $40 to ship my last order back for a refund a few weeks ago and have not received it.

I am located in a remote location of Alaska so, I am looking for a new lab. If anyone can recommend one it would be appreciated

Can you post the pics in question? Just would like to see them, and how they look.

Ouch - I'm so very sorry! Give me the order# and I'll help - I also want to see the photos in question, thanks. We guarantee 100% satisfaction at SmugMug and you shouldn't have had to pay a dime to return anything.

Allow me to help you, write our help desk with all the info and include order#s please. Put ATTN: Andy in the subject line so I get it.

You can talk to Roslyn or Tiffany at Bay, they have all the info.
Rosylyn from Bay promised a refund and I shipped the prints back to Bay, att:Rosyln. Called Bay and got Tiffany yesterday to research the refund. She was to call back by mid afternoon with an answer and of-course, she never called. Roslyn has seen the photo's already. I really just want to cut my losses ($40 shipping from Alaska) at this time, receive a refund and move on.

Can anyone recommend a good lab?

I printed a bunch of larger photos through ezprint and those came out ok. So its a "hit and miss" kind of thing with either printing company.

Now I use bayphoto....I like the 'hands on' option and yes I've had to have some prints run again. Hopefully someday all photos will print perfectly, but till then its nice to know that smug backs ours prints 100% so if needed they will reprint for us.

    Thanks smug thumb.gif

Unfortunately I have had no response or "Backup" from Smugmug or BayPhoto (at best, lip service).
I called Bay again yesterday and left a message for Tiffany to call me (she was on the other line) and she still has refused to update me. Bay is by far, the worst place I have ever done business with. It seems as if I've been sucker punched into returning my prints, at my expense and they have no intent or refunding as promised by Roslyn. I have never been rude or aggressive while on the phone with them yet, they do not appear to care.

No thanks Smug and Bay :puke

Did you not see my post just above? I'm deeply concerned about this. I will ensure that you're satisfied, no matter if this order was via SmugMug or Bay Directly. I'm awaiting still your email to me at our help desk. I'm traveling today, but you can be assured of a reply by Monday.

We don't roll the way your saying - promise.

Ouch! I guess that makes me a liar. This is exactly the attitude that is the problem or, maybe you did not see my reply to your post.

Tiffanie is the customer service manager at Bay (800-435-6686) and well aware of the situation, if you are truly interested in becoming involved.

The only satisfaction that I am asking for is the refund that was promised by Roslyn.

Whatever way you roll is of no interest to me, I am simply stating the facts wether you like it or not.

Alaskan, sorry for the hassle and confusion. What can I do to help? Do you have order numbers and what can we do to get whatever you need resolved? You can contact me directly at larry@bayphoto.com if you like. We seldom ask for prints back and when we do, we will absorb the cost. I'm surprised because we put a lot of care and effort in our customer service, but sometimes things happen. However, anybody can always contact me with any issues and I will fix them pronto.....Larry

I ordered prints which hadn't been properly sharpened beforehand (my fault, not theirs), and they reprinted and shipped all free of charge. I kept both the "bad" and "good" prints.

Another order was damaged by USPS; again, new prints shipped no charge. Again, I kept both sets.

These two orders are just two of dozens. I prefer Bay (they correct color better than I do, the photos have more "pop"), but I don't see you going back to Bay at this point.

Alaskan, if I do not hear from you, this will be resolved Monday via Tiffanie and or Rasilind as they have all the details. In addition I will review what happened and deal with it accordingly.....Larry

Hi Alaskan - up until now I had no clue about order#, or any details if you ordered from SmugMug or via Bay directly. I did get the owner of Bay Photo to post here (papalouie) so that we could swiftly get you a refund, and fix the situation. But I couldn't do that until you'd given me some critical info - thanks, I'm going to leave you in Larry's capable hands. Please let me know if you do not get full satisfaction, thanks.

Out of curiosity: are you ordering through SmugMug or directly from these printers? I order through my Smug website...

Hi Alaskan, so I know by now you've heard from Bay, and your order is fully refunded - this was done via Bay directly, not via SmugMug - I'm glad that Bay refunded you - both they and us always will do the right thing. I'm sorry you had a bad experience, if you ever want to try again just email me personally, at our help desk, and I'd be happy to review your images before ordering and advise.

Let me know if there's anything else that we can do, thanks.
