When this photo was shot the sky seemed a lot more dramatic. The thin horizon line was yellow/red along with the sun and there was some color in the clouds as well. The water was greenish/blue.
Just a few minor tweaks on this one, everything else looks fine.
tweak
-opened up the shadows on the left side of the hill (dodge)
-lightened (dodge) the building in the center
-set white point slider as there was more room left on the histogram
I'll bite. I'd love to see what you do with this photo of the Chicago skyline!
good
-great skyline
-exposure is right on
nit
-photo seems soft (camera shake) ?
-photo has a slight tilt to the left (when placed on grid)
-bird could be healed out
-sensor dust (sky)
tweak
-darkened the blue in the sky using LCH tool in Nikon Capture NX2
-added saturation and contrast boost to just the blue building in center left
-added tad of global contrast boost
-healed out the bird and sensor dust in the sky

This was shot at 10 seconds ss.
Thanks much for your help
Doug
good
-great mood (water motion blur)
-exposure is right on
-good DOF
-good FG placement (kelp) adds depth to the photo
-good color (but less blue might make it work a bit better)
nit
-sun is a bit of a distraction
-crop could be a tad tighter (negative space)
-sensor dust (sky)
tweak
-desaturated the colors to add a different look
-healed out the sun and made a home made one that is less of a distraction
-cropped the photo tighter to get rid of some of the negative space
and place horizon to 1/3 rule
-healed out the sensor dust
Thank you much for spending the time in doing my photo and everyone else. You are most generous.
I like what you did to my photo, as I could do nothing with the sun I really like your alternative, as well as getting rid of the negative space et al.

Alot of people don't like HDR. In my opinion HDR has a place in
modern day (digital) photography and in my opinion HDR excels
at showing anything that is antique like old cars and old buildings
and this photo is just that.
Great job on this HDR ! Everything looks great and the only nit is
the sky's color balance is off and the little overhang roof in the
far left of the photo is a bit of a distraction.
tweak
-healed out both light blue spots in the sky (to improve color balance)
-desaturated color dodge the large dark blue area in the sky at the
top right corner (to improve color balance)
-added a tad of color boost to just the green curtains
-lightened (dodge) all the roof tops
-lightened (dodge) the mountain tip in the BG
-healed out the small roof top in the far left of the photo
-amazing place
-exposure is good even know the snow is clipped (to wide DR for sensor,
this is typical)
-good contrast
-good DOF
nit
-color (greens) seem a tad oversaturated
-stray branches in the bottom corners of photo are a bit of a distraction
tweak
-cropped photo so shorline is at 1/3 rule and to get rid of some of the snow
(your comp still works well, this is just for a different look)
-desatured the colors
-set a chroma point on the redish deposits using the (LCH) tool
in Nikon NX2 this will add color saturation to just the redish color
-healed out some of the snow in the top left of the photo
-healed out the stray branches in the bottom corners
-added a tad of global USM (sharpening) to get over the AA filter
I'm new here and to DSLR photography, so any help would be greatly appreciated.
This was taken @ Red Rocks Amphitheater yesterday.
I'd also like to know what you think of this one, don't need anything done to it, would just like some feedback. Thanks!
good
-great place
-nice light
-exposure is right on (good histogram shape)
-photo has good depth (nice wide angle comp)
-good DOF
-low noise
nit
-photo is flat (lacks contrast)
-colors are washed out
-the stone work in the bottom right corner and bird spec at the top
are a bit of a distraction
-photo is a tad soft
tweak
-added a tad of contrast boost
-added a tad of color boost
-lightened (dodge) these areas
1-some of the rock outcrop in the FG
2-some of the bushes in the FG
-cropped a little off the bottom and right of photo to get rid of
the stone work in the bottom right corner (distraction)
-healed out the main cloud and bird spec in the sky (distraction)
-added a tad of USM (sharpening) to get over the AA filter
Hope this helps and thanks for posting.
PS The sky is clipped in the smaller photo but everything else looks
real good.

Nice photo the only nit I can see is halos around the trees
(oversharpening) ? Plus the file size is to small to work on.
