I have been starting to see some oddities in my homepage slideshow at .
www.jlatas.com. My settings are for 600 by 600 pixels but I am now seeing some images shown at about 1" x1", Also some images are showing at the wrong aspect ratios. Anyone else seeing this? Image attached...

Hello, I just looked, all seems normal - advise as to specific images please, if it happens again?

I don't see the small thumbnails in my slideshow anymore...great! However, some of my slideshow images still show up as square formatted photos. My slideshow setup has always been for 600 x 600 pixels, but it seems as though the slideshow always used 600 as the longest side on non-square images and kept the original aspect ratio. Now it is taking 'some' photos and appears to be making them 600 px square. This started happening last week. What am I not getting?

I am also having the same issue. It's not with every image, but it is definitely with some of them. I'd love some guidance on what / how to fix. FWIW, this is a new problem, it was previously working without issue.

The first thing anyone will ask that can help is "you have a direct link to where you see this?".

Not sure I understand your point Allen . We all seem to have our site links posted.

Anyone looking would have to sit through a slideshow and hope they see what
you are seeing as wrong. Is it the homepage show? And exactly what photos,
as have no way of knowing if a single slide is displayed correctly or not. Make
    sense?

It's my home page slide show. The images that are getting cropped square are # 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 8. I have 16 images in the loop, the others are not involved.

    Thanks for any /all insight.

Sorry to hijack your thread Jlatas.

No problem Kimberly. Could use the help.

Allen...my issues are in my homepage slideshow. Can't pinpoint certain images because its random. I know you help alot of folks and are on this forum alot...but you'll see my square photos within a few seconds. This was not happening last week or prior. I am using FF 3.5 and have never had any issues until last week. Yesterday , my slideshow on my homepage was displaying thumbnails. That is gone but the full size square images remain.

Here's 2 attached jpegs showing the squared version in the homepage slideshow and then the original image in a gallery from where the slideshow is derived.

I cycled though the whole show and didn't see any square ones. Try clearing
your cache, might be using ones for there.

Thanks for the help Allen but I've tried that a dozen times already. I can't believe you don't see it in your browser. This all started about the same time as the news of the new Journal and Slideshow customizations. I'm giving up for now cause its pissing me off at the moment.

Does anyone at SmugMug want to chime in on this issue???

Hey guys we're looking into this. In the mean time you can add this to your slideshow to force the medium size that will fit your slideshow up to 600x450.

    forceSize: 'MediumURL',

Please use this as a work around until we can get this fixed.

Thanks Nick...at least that gets my slideshow images back to their original proportions. Thanks for looking into this. Not a truly big deal but its driving me nuts! Appreciate the help!

Can you please try clearing your cache and trying the Slideshow again? If you are still seeing cropped or incorrect images please give a URL of the site along with a direct link to an image that is displaying incorrectly.

    Thanks!

David please see my previous post. Try clearing your browser cache and then view the Slideshow again. Are you still having problems after you do that?

I am going to attempt to attach a screen shot of one of the obvious ones. It is happening on both IE and FF for me. Cache has been cleared on both. The first image is of the picture in my slideshow gallery - the second is how it appears on my homepage. Obviously, this isn't good for first impressions.

I will go in and try to force the medium size and see how that works but would appreciate any and all help in the mean time.

    THANKS!

That slide shows whole in both FF3.5 and IE6 here. Try clearing your
Smugmug cookies also. Gota be something on your machine causing it
    I would think.

I'm sorry but this has nothing to do with FF cache and/or cookies. I just installed build 7600 of Windows 7 on a third PC and so it has a clean version of FF and the same issues appear there. Time to look at this from the SmugMug end.

Same issues with a virgin installation of IE8...except that the slideshow also halts after a few images...

I also noticed that I am having the same problems others are speaking of. My slideshow on my home page has worked fine for along time, and just recently (within the last two days) I noticed that it play's image #1 fine, then images #2 and #3 are cropped and then it freezes up on image #3. I am viewing it on Safari on two different machines and the same thing happens on both. I have also cleared my cookies on both machines, but it does not seem to fix the problem. I to think this looks terrible to anyone visiting my site, and would love to get this fixed as soon as possible.
Thanks in advance for any help anyone can give me.
