I was paid my deposit fee already. I then require a check for the full amount within the last two weeks before the wedding. We had an agreement that I would be paid the remainder the day of. They followed our agreement.
Glad they followed your agreement, but my question was, what would you have done if they didn't pay you?
Also, change the term "deposit" to a "retainer". A "retainer" is to secure your services. A "deposit" is refundable.
I would consult an attorney. I have had several attorneys, including Carolyn Wright (she's a photographer and an attorney) advise me on my contract. Carolyn wrote my contract for me. I have had more than one attorney tell me that a "deposit" even if you state it is "non-refundable" would be refunded if you ever went to court. "Retainer" is a stronger word than "deposit". I always hear "I have a lawyer on retainer." I have never heard "I have a lawyer on deposit."
