Welcome to Round #81 of the Dgrin mini-Challenges.

This challenge is open to any Dgrin member. It will run from now (Tuesday, August 11, 10:00 pm, PST time (GMT -7)) to Friday, September 11, 10:00 pm, PST time (GMT -7).

The topic, ready for your interpretation: Cityscape

I live in a wonderful city, Seattle. Our skyline is beautiful with charismatic buildings, majestic mountains, and soothing oceans. I can think of no better way to honor it than my creating this mini-challenge where you all can share your beautiful city images. Any amount of post-processing is allowed. You can post cityscapes of a single city or different cities. Please put the location in your description of the photo. I will be checking in regularly during this contest. Now let's see some of your images!

Your Judge:
-thapamd (Mahesh)

To start things off, here are a few of my favorite images of Seattle. Enjoy! :D

The emerald city in B&W:

And I was just in San Francisco today. But it was not a good day for photos there. Beautiful shots of Seattle for sure

Thanks, Chris! Ya, I know a little about bad photo days, living in Seattle. rolleyes1.gif

Loved your Reflected Birch photo, BTW. Awesome job! thumb.gif

This is a great theme. I will probably have to start processing some shots of city of Florence and Venice that I took from high vantage points while I was there only several days ago.

hehe, you are funny Linda. I wish I could enter my Venice grand canal shot that I just added to my gallery 3 days ago, but I know that won't quite qualify for this theme.

Ok, fine, I'll stop being lazy and just post some. I hate being first, though. Am I allowed to switch these up at a later date?

Yes, you can definitely switch these up later, Danny...I don't know why the heck you'd want to, however. Awesome Seattle images! I can tell this contest is gonna be fierce! :D

    Allen,

Your shots are spectacular! I saw the Grand canal shot on your smug site and thought about purchasing a print but alas realized you only upload low res images? Will you be offering prints for sale in the future?

I'm kinda bummed about this challenge, because I do not live anywhere near a city. And don't travel as much as I would like to. But, I did find a "townscape" in my Lightroom archives.

Nantucket, MA during a typical foggy sunrise...

No need to be sorry for that image, Greg. Wow! The light is delicious, and the fog really adds an element of quiet mystery to the scene. This most definitely qualifies! clap.gif

Thanks, Mahesh. The population and housing density is definitely high there, but the variety of colors really caught my attention.
