Your site is lightning fast for me (I'm in NY).

Would you mind running a line quality test for us? You go here:
    http://www.dslreports.com/linequality
Sign up and run the test. Registration there is free. After you run the test, copy the link to the results for us. That will let us know if there is an issue with the line preventing photos from arriving to our servers. Email us the link to the results when you get them. http://smugmug.com/help/emailreal

OK here is what I have found so far my daveturner.smugmug acct will not load up at all ( IE says can not find it ) my daveturnerimages.com site will load but with no slide show and when I click on a gallery it takes 2-3 min for pictures to show up? The forum site I linked photos to this morning ( and previewed and it worked ) just shows up with red X's were pictures should be? Is it something I have done? Again thanks for the help.

Dave, can you try and clear your cache in IE?
    http://www.smugmug.com/gallery/3232576

To clear your cache in Internet Explorer 7, click on "Tools". It's in the top right corner of the browser. Then select "Internet Options". That's going to open a new window with some options. Make sure that the "General" tab is selected. Then click on "Delete..." under the Browsing History section. That will bring up another window. Locate the "Delete Files..." button and click on that.

Then close and reopen, and try going here:

AT 2:15 pm MST its down again I reposted the pics to the same forum site plus another one and now just red X's again? I can not get on again using my .smugmug name and it takes a long time for pictures to show up? Man I'm getting tired of this.

Dave, who is your isp? Everything with your site is functioning perfectly - no doubt you have a connection issue. .. can you try from another location or different computer? ear.gif

Just to add another data point - Dave's site is running really slow from my end as well. IE/FF/Google Chrome all take roughly 15-30 seconds to load the homepage. I bounced around different galleries in each browser and on most pages the thumbnails would trickle in one or two at a time, then each larger photo would take a second or ten to load after advancing. I have never visited his site before today.

My own pages do this sometimes, although normally not as dramatically.

One commonality is the "waiting on pixel.quantserve.com" message in the status bar. I see it very often. ne_nau.gif

Just for kicks, I ran a few speed tests and line quality tests, also.

Can you get to other sites on the internet? You have 100% packet loss in the middle of your connection from you to us. Have you contacted your ISP? I suggest that, as a first step. As I've been saying, your site is 100% operational, it's your route to your site that's a problem right now.

Yes Andy I can go to any site I want to and it works fine. You say its me to you but what I don't understand is when I go to a site were I have posted linked photos they do not pull up? I am going through there site so that should break the me to you link right? I downloaded photos to my website all night last night set them up to sell and now I can't get to them or show them to people to buy.

I have some messeges out to friends to try my site and the links I have but I have not heard back yet.
I have not conntacted my ISP yet as you are the only site ( my website ) that I can not get to. To me that shows that it is not the ISP but I could be wrong I guess? In the end I can go anywere on the web but my website? Help........

I have shown you grabs, your site and the linked images are working fine for us.

Can you try clearing fully and completely, your cache again? Closing and reopening your browser.

Did you add any new security software?

I checked out the forum and saw all the images loading fine. headscratch.gif Sounds like something going on dns-wise. Try changing DNS servers on your computer to these: 69.1.30.43 69.1.30.42. If after changing these everything works consistantly, then it was some sort of intermittant screwy dns issue.

DNS servers should be specific to your ISP. What is the right setting for one person is not necessarily the right setting for someone else.

Agreed, but usually the only thing that changes is the number of hops and the ping times. This would have been a diagnostic step, if anything.

There's a Mustang site I frequent that has terrible intermittant DNS issues. Their solution is to have people that are having trouble use openDNS dns servers.
