I think you nailed the exposure. I need me a D700 (and more camera handling skills).
Thanks, I too started with a D40 and a two kit lenses. Six months later I had a D300, 35-70 F/2.8, 70-200 f/2.8. Six months after that I had a D700, 10.5 fisheye, 50 F/1.8. Next year I'll have a 300 F/2.8. Once you start upgrading it's hard to stop!!!!! There is a huge difference between the D40 and D700 in terms of quality and options. However, there is a huge learning curve there as well. When I got the D300, I felt like I was sitting in the cockpit of an airplane. There are so many dials, buttons, switches, etc... It can be overwhelming. I've had the D700 about 6 months now and I'm still learning different ways to use it.
Here's our new addition to the family. (A little more guilt for lizzard_nyc). He's been great so far. A few accidents in the house, but the wet spots are less than a tablespoon, phew! Thor is our MX puppy!
Photo is a little soft, next time...when he sits still.
Yea, that joker gained 6 lbs in 3 weeks! Ha, that's a great pic of Riley rockin the wreath necklace!!!
Might be next year's xmas card
I am just amazed at how quickly they grow. No joke, a week ago, I put my hand on Riley's head and damn if it didn't feel bigger He grows at (roughly) 10lbs a month. So he's gone from 12lbs when I got him back in August to just over 65 today :yikes
Moderator Journeys/Sports/Big Picture :: Need some help with dgrin?
Holy crap, he's already 65 pounds? We need updated photos. Our little Thor went from 3.5 pounds when we got him at Halloween to a whopping 7 pounds this morning!

Thought I would breath a little life into this old thread with an updated pick of Wilbur. I was playing with my new strobes tonight shooting my kids in the living room and he decided to lay down right in front of me and start chewing on his toy, So I was able to get a few shots of him.
