Here's a brief selection of shots from a chilly three day trip through obscure parts of AZ with Aaron Newman (anwmn1). I still have lots to process, but wanted to put a couple of shots up (basically to keep up with Aaron who already posted a few of his!)

4 has a great use of slight long exposure in it to give motion of the clouds, with the staticness of the rocks.
And 10 has great color and tones. Again great lighting.
Great work

I really need to make some time to get to AZ to shoot. Coming from New York and now in San Diego, these types of landscape features (you know, the canyons, hoodoos, voodoos and whatnots) are infinitely fascinating to me. Nice work!

Thanks, Eia! I got lucky, the dramatic clouds added a lot to those shots.

Hey Andy, thanks so much for the thoughtful critiques! 3 and 10 were especially challenging shots for me to process because of the heavy shadows in both of those. I never know how much to bring up the shadows which of course washes out the tone when you do that. I actually created versions of both of those to try to lighten them up, and then finally gave up and went with the heavy shadows. Sounds like a made the right call since you specifically called them out. You've been very helpful.
Thanks!

Thanks so much, Cuong. That's quite a compliment because processing has not traditionally been a strength for me. Hanging out on Dgrin has helped immensely.

Thanks, Shimon! We'll have to arrange a shoot out here some time. So many great places to shoot, so little time. :cry

Thank you, Aperture. And yep, it's a reshoot, so these are totally new. And it won't be the last time there either.

Thanks, Thwack! I can't wait to see them either. (Just a minor detail of processing them. )
