This landscape is definitely unique. The 1st one would be perfect without the contrail. Besides the cold temperature, what did you and Joel have to endure to get these amazing images? Give us the details.

1st location- 12 miles of off roading and a 1 mile hike in a wash. Went out for sunset so we had to hike the wash and find the cars in the dark. Endured 21 degree temps which was cold enough to freeze our beers before we could drink them. Up before sunrise- still 21 degrees- and hike the wash to the HooDoos in the dark.

2nd location- 26 miles of off roading- 12 of that being DEEP sand. Camped out in sub 20 temps. Hike much shorter but far more challenging hiking around the formations. Winds with gusts of probably 20mph making 32 degrees feel even colder.

3rd location- reservation land. Weren't sure if we were really allowed to be there or not. Too much to try and shoot with not enough time. I am going to work on getting access to more of this area.

I plan to return to all of these locations in 2010 - I am sure Joel wont have any problem going back either. deal.gif

Let me know when it warms up again out there Aaron! I need to follow you and Joel around for a weekend!!

#4 Angry Earth reminds me of a shot I just saw in a recent Outdoor Photographer issue. I don't have the issue at hand right now, but I think it was an image by Ian Plant in the Dreamscapes article. Great shot! thumb.gif

Dude, you've been sandbagging! Those are great! I especially like 5 and 7. And oh, of course #1 as well. Who doesn't like a shot of themselves? mwink.gif But seriously, that's a very cool shot. All of them are!! thumb.gif

"Angry Earth" and "Morning Glory" are the best, IMO. I really like the texture you've capture not only in these two but the whole set. I'd love to go to Wahweap and surroundings some day. You've taken some excellent pictures from this area...clap.gif

These are phenomenal shots. Like I mentioned to kdog, you guys are so lucky! Everytime I see shots of these particular areas, I can't wait to get back to the Southwest. Well done!

Thanks Aaron! I want to go back to Wahweap to get some better light. We didn't get any golden glow due to the cloud coverage we had in the morning. It is on my short list to go back to. deal.gif

Thank you Bryan. There are a lot of amazing locations but Joel is in a better location than I am. My travel time is usually 1 to 3 hours longer than his. Let us know next time you come out West. deal.gif

Terrific series--you're doing some amazing work! I'm equally impressed by what you go through to get your shots. You guys are truly dedicated to your craft!

I love #4 and 5--great colors and lines in both. But all of them are lovely to behold!
