I do a best of each year but it has never been narrowed down to just 10. Congrats on some fine work this year.

This is a WONDERFUL idea, but now that you've posted yours I would be afraid to post anything I've shot in all of 2009!

Thank you all very much for the nice comments. It was a good year for me with photography and I'm hoping to "get around" in 2010 as well. The Columbia Gorge and Western Oregon are first on the list, and I'd like to do the Subway hike at some point as well. Especially after seeing other photographers great photos in these forums.

I think that schmoo's idea is a good one. Feel free to post your top 10 lists in this thread. I look forward to seeing them.

Thanks Marc! I think the sunrise was a little luck a little serendipity.
#3 was taken on the way to cottonwood canyon one morning last February- just happened to see some good frost and good light so pulled over-- right along the highway somewhere near heber valley, and to be honest could probably never find that location again. But it sure looked good that morning.

Really outstanding set of images, Chris. Looks like you certainly got around throughout the year! They're all top notch but I seem to be drawn most to the elephant photo due to its unique perspective and other lines throughout the photo. I'm also a sucker for the ant's perspective of #1.

The top 10 idea was a great one so I decided to look back over my 2009. Thanks in part to a commitment to my new blog during this year, I was out quite a bit and had a phenominal year. It was tough limiting things to just 10 photos but here are mine in no order....

Great sets, both of you! I love the winter shots you both have--since I never see snow here and I love it, I'm always drawn to winter shots. Horseshoe Bend looks like a great photo opp!

chris... incredible set. each photo is well done. especially drawn to the elephant portrait (i am a sucker for wildlife). also quite like #10, #3 and #1.

i guess should work on my 10, although i don't think i will have a chance to look/process/upload many of my recent shots (misbehaving technology). in any case, i am looking forward to seeing everyone's works.

Hard to think that someone who's quality and and base level such as yours Ron could grow even more but I definately see big growth during the last year compared to the year before. I think your decision to branch out and visit new locations to shoot was a great one.

While I enjoy the two photos from one of your "staple" locations (Wa coast), I really love the two you chose from your Yellowstone trip. The contrast between the dead snags and the sunrise light is fantastic and I love how it looks like a repeating scene in the second photo as it appears as if the snag is slowly sinking into the ground as you travel back in the scene. To sum up, nice work, Ron.

Ron - Wow! I see several shots in your "top ten" that I hadn't seen before, and I like them all. Just from what I've seen of the shots you post on DGrin, I'd sure have a tough time choosing ten that I liked.

All three sets are very very nice... ...Even though I've only been an active participant on this forum for about three months I've never introduced myself through way of a sampling of my previous pictures. I had a really good year as far as getting out a lot and taking pictures. These are ten photos that I really liked (kind of hard to pick ten):

And that's my Top 10 (hey, the Big Ten actually has 11 members, I can have 11 photos in my top 10!!) thus far for 2009! We've still got some time left this year, and since all my Christmas shopping is already done, this weekend will be photo time so hopefully I'll catch a couple more good ones!
