Great set and I really think The lighthouse is nice, a new perspective for that location. I plan on making a trip to that area in the Spring.

    I like #5 and #7 thumb.gif

The others are a big 'overcooked' for me.

Guess I will have to go through mine .... one more time. lol3.gif

Another great set. The S90 is not too shabby even at f/2.

Thanks, Aaron. The only one I feel I overbaked was the "Land of Make Believe", and of course I titled it appropriately. That one I purposely exaggerated to see what it looked like. I liked that it brought out all the microdetails in the distance, and so went with it. My wife didn't like it though, so obviously it's not for everyone. The Canon S90 shot certainly wasn't overbaked -- that's straight out of the camera, with a little noise reduction applied to the sky.

    Cheers,

Hahaha. :D Thanks, Brad. It sounds like a southwestern adventure is in your future. There's a lot to see and do out here. Although, given that you're a BMW motorcycle rider, you've probably seen your share already!

Thanks, Cuong! ISO 500 too! deal.gif Although out of fairness I do admit some noise smoothing on the sky that's not necessary on my 5DMII.

Great! I have to admit I like the surreal look of the exaggerated details. My wife wasn't wild about the look though, so I understand it's not for everyone. I am relieved however to find out that I'm not the only one who liked it. So thanks for that! wings.gif

Thanks, Dan! Sounds like a southwest trip is in your future. That should be like nothing for you, judging from the locations I see in your amazing gallery. :wow bowdown.gif Look us up if you're ever in the area and maybe can show you around. deal.gif

Thanks Stephanie! That's kind of you to say as well. I figured people were getting burned out seeing all the shots from this journey and Aaron and I have been posting. I know I'm starting to. :giggle I could probably go for one more pass through my shots to see what I can dig up. On the other hand, it might be best to leave on a high-note. rolleyes1.gif

Hey man, good to see you. thumb.gif Thanks for compliment on the shots, and I'm thrilled you like them. There is no question we live in an amazing country. Aaron and I shot for three days, and we ran into only a single other couple shooting in the area. They were from Europe, and had a local guide, so you know they were paying dearly for the privilege. That kinda says it all right there, huh?

Crazy crazy stuff! Love it. Almost makes me want to study geology.

#5 is my favorite, great comp.

You and Aaron outdid yourselves, the only problem I have with your shots and Aaron's is that I wasn't there taking them too.

    Thanks, Natalie. Much appreciated. thumb.gif

If you look at the dark rock balancing on top of the hoodoos, it's the same rock that you see as the top layer of rock at the top of the canyon. Evidently the white rock is softer, and gets eroded away in certain areas, and leaves other areas. But in doing so, a piece of the dark rock sometimes stays on top and ends up balancing there. That's just a guess on my part, mind you. mwink.gif
