I redid this in color to explore some noise reduction questions. Then I took a look at it and liked it. What do you think compared to the B&W?

    I prefer the color version. When the focus is on the face, I believe color more often hits the mark.

    Noise is better, or less noticeable, in the color version as well. It is still an outstanding capture either way.

    If it was just the older lady, I'd prefer black and white. It emphasizes the character in her face. With both people in the picture, the color version works the best.

    It's obviously a birthday or other celebration, so the tiara on the other woman, in color, sets this off.
